Works Great
Works great on our French doors. The tabs you push to adjust the straps can be hard to push but I’d buy more for other doors if needed.

Easy to use
Easy to install and easy to use. My only issue is durability. They only lasted a few months before breaking.

Genius
The decoy button is a genius move. Whoever designed this absolutely was a parent. They are super easy for me to open and close, and our 2.5 year old has already given up trying to figure out how to open it. We use them on our double closet doors that just pull to open. They work perfectly!

Broke
Disappointed... my kid couldn't figure this one out but the pin holding one side of the ziptie broke after 2 days on one of them not even sure how

This lock even tricks my older kids
This lock works well on a set of French doors that have paddle handles which it's hard to find a child lock built for these types of doors. It's got a clever design that even tricks my older kids. For the adult user it's fairly easy to use.

The future of baby proofing is now!
I was hesitant at first to buy these because there are cheaper options available but I was enticed by the placebo button on the front so I went ahead and did it. And we love it! Pros: - The placebo button is genius: not only does it work at tricking toddlers into pushing it, but my 18-month-old son often (not always) gets less frustrated at this device than our other baby proofing gear because he gets distracted by the button and then treats it like a toy rather than screaming when he still can’t get the fireplace open. - It’s very adjustable! Put it on everything from cabinets to fireplaces to fridge doors. And if you rent (like us), then you don’t have to worry about holes or damage on the walls/doors - Unlike the u-shaped ones, this doesn’t have any rigid, sharp or stick-like parts waiting to gouge out an eye. The zip-tie portion is flexible and smooth, unlike the vicious teeth and prongs of last-generation baby locks. Cons: - It’s not an air-tight closure, there is some give to it even when you tighten it all the way. So finger-pinching is likely to happen in slightly cracked-open doors (although this has, in my experience, always been the case for these kinds of locks) - Definitely pricier than other options (but worth it, in my opinion) All in all a great step forward in innovation for baby-proofing products.

A baby proofing must!
This is exactly what I needed to keep my little one out of things. It was easy to install, use and adjust if needed! Opens with a push of a button. The decoy button is very nice! Highly reccomend.

works well for hard-to-fit handles
The lever handles on several of our double doors are just a bit too widely spaced for the widest of the u-shaped locks. This one is a bit hard to lock one handed, and if you don't leave enough slack it is hard to lock two handed as well. So far the toddler has not been able to open the doors and has not figured out how to pull the loop off the handle.

More practical than anything else
When we child-proofed our first place, I scoffed at these kinds of locks. They're inelegant. But here's the thing: they work. If you have a door with appropriate handles, these are going to be way way easier to install, and they're more likely to last. We have two cabinets now where the hidden latches broke, and we've switched to these instead with better results. As other reviewers have mentioned, you can cut the extra length of dangling strap pretty easily. Closing them is a bit annoying at first but you get used to the angle and stop thinking about it. I wish I'd just gone for these right off the bat.

Best Safety 1st lock...and we tried them all
Since we expect to be using these for a while with a 2 yr old or we've nick named the "Destroyer", we bought this lock, the Safety 1st Push 'n Snap Cabinet Lock and the Safety 1st Grip 'N Go Cabinet Lock. This one is the easiest to use, significantly easier than the painful Snap Cabinet Lock. It can also adjust to more door configurations than the Grip 'N Go Cabinet Lock, which requires door knobs to be precisly within about 1.5" of each other. I'm not convinced the decoy button is useful. I'm concerned that our son will keep pressing it and rub the lock onto the door, potentially damaging it over the long hall. Best door/cabinet lock we can find...so we've bought 8 of them.

Dangerous junk
The best I could do was get this so that a half inch gap was still possible. Have he manufacturers of this ever seen a child's finger? The instruction sheet says, "The cabinets should not create a gap larger than 1 inch." What actually happens is the device acts like a bear trap, giving just enough room for a child to get his fingers behind the door, which will then snap back.

Stopped the pantry robber
This item arrived very fast and worked as described. Very easy to install (just disconnect the two halves, click a button on each piece to remove the loop cables then pull the cable around your door handles and feed the loop cables back through the original secure holes then click the two halves back together). The product is made from hard plastics and feels very sturdy. It can be opened one-handed by an adult but needs two hands to slide the two halves back together. Make sure it clicks back together to ensure that it's securely locked. The loop cables have a safe jagged shape to them which prevents them from slipping out once you pull them tight. The fake button works really well to misguide my 7 year old son. Even when he tried, he couldn't get his finger and thumb around the top and bottom of the large lock to open the secret flexible sides as his hands were too small and weak. To be fair, he does have fine-motor skill difficulties so maybe a normal child with full grip strength can open it one handed but we found that our child struggled. He's tried to brute force it by pulling hard on the cupboard handles with all his weight but the lock remains secure, compared to the three previous different locks which all broke. So far we are very happy with this decoy lock and it's reduced a lot of the stress of trying to keep our hungry pantry robber out while trying to cook at the same time. Now we can just cook knowing that he's not going to get into the cupboard and make a mess or eat wrong the foods. We will now try a similar lock in this Outsmart range to secure our medicine cabinet doors too.

Great option
Was looking for a solution to secure closet with double doors in kids room. Glad I came across these as didn’t want to stick something like most other child safe options have. Have worked so far. Both kids went straight to the dummy button. Hope they don’t figure it out soon so try to only open when they aren’t around or looking
