Sturdy, but.....

Did not like that the screws rusted very quickly.

Made of metal which is a plus, but thin.

This item has a very clean finish to it. Hey has a very nice look to go with your lamps. They only reason I gave it four stars is because the metal is very thin and when I was mounting edit, the metal cracked due to tightness.

It's OK

I bought a pair. The only negative is the screws it came with rusted within days. I had to buy better screws from the hardware store.

Just what we needed to secure our outdoor lanterns

We Purchased 2 solar pole lamps to mount on our entry wall to replace a set of electric lanterns that had been there for years. These pedestal mounts are perfect for covering the existing holes where the electric wires came thru for the previous lights. These pedestal mounts fit our new light bases perfectly and has made a very nice clean looking light setup in our front entry.

Is not a 3" post base. Actual diameter is more like 2 13/16" or 2 7/8".

It is not a 3" post base. The description says with 3" diameter fitter. That is not the case. It is more like 2 13/16” or 2 7/8" not a full 3". My post light takes a 3" post and this post base fits sloppy. Do not buy if your lamp takes a full 3" post and you want a tight fit like it should. If your using a length of post between the lamp and the base and not placing the lamp directly on it, which is the primary use for these then it should work. I live outside of town where my Lowes and HomeDepot are. When I get to town to buy one, I will update on which brand I bought that is similar to this style. Too flimsy.

Used it for supporting a post lamp, it is a friction fit and it cracked after just a couple taps with the hammer and block of wood. Now I have too start from scratch again. Would not recommend using this. Just doubled checked the OD of this mount, it is 2” 15/16, which is almost the same as the ID of the post that was supplied. What is the next step?
