Counterfeit? Fake?

I know I bought this from the Amazon "Scotch Store" (sold by Amazon), but there are some red flags with my purchase that lead me to question the authenticity. First, even though the product pic showed a labeled and wrapped 6 pack of tape, I received six individual unwrapped rolls in an Amazon envelope. Also, the manufacturing process was bad. For all rolls, the tape was rolled out of alignment with the round cardboard core by a full millimeter. This does not render the tape less usable, but it seems remarkable that 3M would have such low quality standards. The cardboard core is stamped with the 3M Scotchblue logo, product number, and supporting text in a convincing manner. So I am not certain this is fake.

Best tape I've found

I have used a variety of painter's tapes and ScotchBlue is, by far, my favorite. Some other brands adhere too tightly to the roll, making the outside of the tape tacky in texture. Other brands have poor adhesion, allowing paint to bleed into areas it does not belong. Duck painter's tape comes to mind as one of my least favorites. It just doesn't grip to the wall and repeatedly curls and falls off. I recently did a couple painting projects around my home and relied on my ScotchBlue. I made lines in my son's room and the tape helped to keep the edges crisp and it peeled off neatly when removed. I also used it to hold a decal on a wall as I stippled and was able to remove the decal and place it on various spots of the wall with the same pieces of tape. The tape has such great adhesion, without being overly tacky, so it sticks multiple times. Definitely a great choice for some home improvement projects.

Good tape for many purposes

along with painting I mostly use this tape to label food containers for our commercial restaurant business. They stick on most "dry plastics" and are high temp dishwasher safe. Pulls off easily with no sticky residue, even after going through our 190 degree F dishwasher.. Use a black majolica marker for writing.

Amazing tape for painting

I have used other brands of tape and decided to spend more this time around. The tape does not disappoint. Adhesion is great and when peeling it is off it is less likely to rip. It also leaves much cleaner lines than other brands I have tried.

Really good value

We painted a very strangely shaped, very large basement, and went through less than one full roll of tape.... And we taped everything. Ceiling, windows, baseboards, doors, trim, light fixtures, etc. It removed so nicely, just pulled right off in big pieces. I bought this multi pack of tape because when using frog tape, we went through three to four rolls for three rooms that roughly equaled the same amount of space. Frog tape didn’t stick nearly as well and had to be reapplied often. There was no bleeding, peeling, or ripping with this tape, and now I have extras for our next project. Awesome!

Can't go wrong with this tape, but be careful

Great tape but adhesion might be a bit much for freshly painted drywall. I had a couple of spots flaking off, even with careful removal. Probably the best tape when used on older walls with multiple layers of paint though!
