Great for storing milk

I’m able to fit 75oz of milk in one of these! It is very helpful for flattening and storing frozen milk. I bought another one!

You need to buy the right bags!!

I freeze 160 ml in one bag (2 full medela tubes). I freeze the bags flat by sandwiching them between small cutting boards in the freezer, then laying them flat to freeze so they are extra flat, then transferring to the milk storage organizer once solid. I use the white base AND the clear lids to store milk upright. Since the frozen milk is pretty...solid, I can stack the base on top of the full lid. 2 storage containers for the price of one! For me, with 160ml in the bags, I can fit the Lasinoh bags only in the lid, which is a teensy weensy bit wider than the base. I can fit 20-22 Lasinoh bags in the lid. The Lasinoh bags in the base have to go in slightly diagonally, which is a waste of space. The Nuk/Gerber bags freeze a bit narrower, but not as flat as the Lasinoh bags. I can fit these in the white base without going diagonally, but I can only fit 17-20 in the base. I also tried one of those 6 qt shoe boxes from the dollar store (or Home Depot, or whereever). These are ok, but I have to put the bags in perpendicular to the long direction of the box. Both types of bags fit 3 across, and about 5-7 bags deep. (Think: shoe box goes in sideways, long side facing the front of the freezer, with the milk bags facing the front of the freezer as well.) The milk tends to fall over as I pull it out. But it's a cheap alternative if you go that route. I also tried the Mainstays Ice Cube tray (tub) from walmart, but even the narrower Nuk / Gerber bags had to go in diagonally. Also, the container flares up, so you waste a lot of space. I definitely prefer this container to either the shoe box or the Mainstays tray. My only caveat is that you should check the depth of your freezer (and if there is a curved lip in the back, you should exclude that from your measurement) because we have a smallish fridge (smallish apartment) and I had to put velcro on the door of the freezer to keep it closed because the First Years milk storage organizer is like 0.25" too long -- so the freezer door is always popping open otherwise.

Nice but not necessary

Its a nice concept to keep breast milk in order but not necessary. I found it took up a lot of space in the freezer and produced a lot more milk then it would hold. I found gallon size freezer bags work much better I just put the milk in order and dated the freezer bag.

A must-have for any nursing and pumping mom!

I came across this item while shopping for other breast feeding items. I wasn't looking for it, but I am so glad I found it! Before this I constantly had my head in the freezer, re-arranging the bags so that the oldest ones were in front and accessible. Also, although the frozen bags of milk are not large, they are an awkward shape (larger on the bottom than on the top so that they can stand) that makes them take up a lot of room in the freezer. Before this, just 15-20 bags of milk would monopolize nearly an entire shelf in my stand-alone freezer! This product stores the bags flat, compact, and in an organized manner. I love the spring mechanism and that the oldest bag is always in the front. I have not filled it up yet, but I will not hesitate to buy another one if I do. The only "con" to the product is that I actually have to remove the entire unit from the freezer to put more bags in the back. This might have something to do with where it is located in my freezer, but I would imagine this is the case for most people. I do not find this to be too big of an issue, but I am glad that I happen to have a flat surface next to my freezer so that I can rest the unit there while I fill it. It's true that you can freeze your bags flat without this product by laying them down to freeze and then put them in your own storage container (or a shoe box) as some other posters have mentioned, but I personally love the all-in-one, space saving, and discreet design of this product. I would rather have this than a shoe box in my freezer any day and I find it well worth the money!

Must have for milk stashes!

With my first kiddo, I laid milk bags flat on a shelf in the freezer and then stacked them later but that system was flawed. First, milk doesn’t really freeze perfectly flat so when I tried to stack them on top of each other, they would topple. It was also easy to get them out of first in, first out order. I saw this and questioned if I really needed it. It was more of a luxury item when I put it on my registry. But now, I feel it’s a must have item. In fact, I now have 2. I love the convenience of being able to freeze it and put it in the ingestible order at the same time. It makes it so easy for my husband to grab the first one with the portion size he needs. Because of the way these are organized, he can easily see the ounces at the top and grab the right one. The spring loaded back means that when a bag is pulled out, the space is compressed leaving more room at the back for more bags. With two of these, I’ve been able to have two plastic inserts to put between bags. That is extra convenient because I frequently freeze two portions at a time. I love that the lid doubles as a storage option if needed. As far as which bags fit in these, you can see from the pictures that I have Lansinoh, Medela, and Nuk bags in this system.

Used both the lid and container as storage racks for Lansinoh bags. Not a perfect fit, but worked well enough for us.

Great to stay organized

Really love this organizer, all the breastmilk storage bags can stand according to the date. I have wasted a lot of breastmilk because of the storage bags laying flat in the fridge. Lots of spilled milk before ???? The only thing to pay attention to before buying this is to check the storage bags you are using. Lansinoh ones go well with it, but the Dr. Brown and Medela storage bags are thicker and bigger. They will still fit in this organizer, but will fit less bags of milk and will be a little tight on the sides, I have to squeeze my Dr. Brown ones. The description didn’t mention this!

Handy for small spaces

Great fit for my little appartement freezer! I started with the lid on, then used the lid separately for extra storage. The spring loaded back panel helps freeze milk flat, and I’ve used 3 different brands of milk bags with no issues. If I could improve one thing, I would make the spring stronger, since I generally have to give the back panel a little push to get it into place.

Can not be used as advertised.

You can’t use this if the milk is still in liquid form as it will thaw the previously frozen bag and milk won’t be safe to use (multiple times frozen). They also did not freeze flat. I used it only for storage of already frozen (flat) milk before transferring it to milk brick bags.

Para banco de leche materna Muy buena opción!

Para el banco de leche materna facilita mucho el almacenarlo sin que ocupe mucho espacio la bolsa de leche porque la comprime y la mantiene higiénicamente segura d ellos demás alimentos del congelador. La recomiendo ampliamente y la tapa incluso si es mucha leche la puedes sudar también para colocar las bolsas.

Not worth it, missing pieces

Not a bad container to hold my breastmilk, but there are quite a few low points about it. It takes up a lot of room in the freezer, doesn't seem to hold a lot of bags of my milk, the container came without the dividers even though in the manual it says there should be dividers, and the lid doesn't fit properly. Don't buy it. Waste of your money because I guarantee they won't send the dividers and have a product where the lid doesn't fit properly.
