Great Solar Watch

Fun colors, light and easy too wear

I purchased this as a gift for my daughter. I have the same watch in Orange and just love it, which is why I bought another for her. I have piles of very good watches. I have thought about bringing them to someone to get the batteries replaced but had a very good swiss watch destroyed by a local jewler. I also do not want to have them all repaired at the same time and watch them run down at the same time. Not a fan of disposable culture, I have tried many times to find a watch which would last. I bought a seiko automatic. It lasted 3 months. I bought a pair of citizens for myself and my husband. His worked, mine never did. The One Eleven has been working fine since I bought it, about 6 months ago. It has not gotten a lot of sun or a lot of use since I have been home, but it is still running after one day in my yard. It started to run a little slow so I put it under a reading lamp for a few minutes and it is back to running just fine. It is easy to set and easy to wear, light weight and comfortable It is also very well made. One Eleven is a Fossil company. I personally like these better than their limited edition solar, because while their bands are colorful and ecoloigcal, I have read reviews which say they are very scratchy. These are not. They are silicone and very comfortable to wear. I just wish that they made more colorful watches. This was the last available when I shopped for my daughter. We are both all set for now, and I did purchase it hoping it would last longer than the others. SAo far,m they have. I really like this line. It is fun, functional, comfortable and works betterr than any eco watch I have had.

Brighter than pic shows

Decent, lightweight, low maintenance watch for the money, cons: white nylon strap looks filthy very quick, feels more sweaty than it needs to, and the hook and loop closures are small and mid-quality. This limits the re-sizing for smaller wrists. While you're shopping, may as well check out replacement 22mm straps! Edit: the pins retaining the strap are integral to the strap and can be changed by hand, but your new strap will need replacement bars! Edit: 9 months after replacing the velcro strap with an olive drab NATO strap that closely matches the face and contrasts with the still-brilliant bezel, I love it even more! Glad I went with the band that goes all the way around my wrist because it lifts broad and sweaty back off my skin, and has two attachment points, so WHEN (not "if") the replacement spring bars jump out during a hike, I have been able to slip the whole thing in my pocket and replace the bar when I'm home.

I loved this watch, but it left me after 16 months

UPDATE: I wore this watch almost every day. Took it off and put it back on over 500 times. But then the Velcro closure on the watchband started weakening. If a tote bag or grocery bag slipped down my arm to my wrist, sometimes the watch would fall off. That's what must have happened early this week. But I didn't notice immediately, so the watch is gone. I immediately replaced it with an identical One Eleven watch (in a different color) and will replace the band as soon as the Velcro starts to fail -- but I'm disappointed that this solar watch isn't expense-free after the initial investment. --------------------------------- previous review ----------------------------------------- I didn't have any of the problems described in negative reviews. • The watch had a small white plastic tab behind the hand-setting knob. It prevented the watch from running and using up its initial charge. As soon as I removed it and pressed the knob in all the way, the watch started running. • Yes, the second hand jumps 2 seconds at a time; I suspect that it is designed to do that. Consider it a "2 second" hand. • So far (24 hours), it has kept perfect time. I was about to mention the length of the watchband as a minor "problem" because it just barely fits my 7 inch wrist. But, I just looked closely and discovered that it's possible to make the band longer -- plus the band can be replaced. IMHO, solar watches are among the best inventions. At this price, I might buy another one.

Not a solar watch…

The description I read billed this as a solar watch. It is not and the battery died in a year or less. Also the Velcro picks up lots of disgusting fuzz and looks kind of shabby in no time.

Love product, shipping not so much

This is the 3rd One Eleven (111) watch I have purchased from Amazon. All 3 of them are great. I think I won't purchase a battery operated watch again. During this pandemic, I have found that solar is great as all the batteries in my watches have stopped and getting somewhere to get them replaced has been difficult. Unfortunately, in shipping, the box was terribly crimped and I almost could not get it opened. Perhaps it should have been shipped in a cardboard box and not a padded envelope. If it had been other than a gift to myself I would have sent it back. Hopefully it will not affect the function. Truly disappointed in the shipping department at Amazon. A first for me, and if you could see my shopping history you would see that I have had LOTS of experience with Amazon shipping. Thus the loss of a star. Update. I am returning the watch. It doesn't consistently keep time. I am not sure if it is something that happened in the shipping mentioned above or if it because it is made of plastic. The second hand will just stop. I try by pulling out the stem and pushing it back in but it doesn't seem to help. Then I will look at it again in 5 minutes and the second hand is moving. I really like the other 2 watches I have purchased from this company but this one just didn't seem to be something that would hold up.
