Great grab bar, but also a fine towel bar!

I've bought two of the 32-inch bars and mounted them in my "updated" bathrooms. I am using them for towel bars. They are great! I spent too long looking at towel bars and thinking, "not only are they badly designed, they are hard on towels!" Towel bars are also a temptation to grab to steady oneself while sitting on the toilet or getting in and out of a tub or shower. But they aren't designed for that and will bend or break. But this bar works for both. And, if you grab the towel for support, the bar is nice and solid. The 32" version just fits two large towels (not the giant bath sheets) folded in half side-by-side. The now unavailable Pinzon luxury bath towels fit perfectly for example. There is nothing to grab or pull on the towels as you remove them for use. Anchor these when mounting them with the 6 provided screws directly into studs, or, as I did, place mounting blocks in between the studs before the drywall is installed. Very satisfyingly solid.

Ours help us to get off the toilet. Here's how...

Two of our toilets are straight across from the towel rack. I bought these bars (which are closest in size to the original rack) and installed them in place of the towel racks. When we have knee or hip pain flare up, it can be hard to get up from the toilet but now all we have to do is reach across and grab hold of the towels and help pull ourselves up. They are also positioned perfectly for getting in and out of the tub/shower. They look so beautiful that you might never know they are actually grab bars. The width is great for two bath towels with room to spare. Have purchased 3 altogether. Great product. If you want help on how to install it there are videos on YouTube.

Tolerance Issue

The mounting flanges were not parallel to the bar. To fix, I drilled out the holes in the posts to make them wider and then re-tapped the stripped threads in the bar. The posts were then able to self align with the bar as they should. Just a tolerance problem, easily fixed. Expected better for $100 though. Looks nice. Feels strong.

A beatiful grap bar in my downstair bathroom

I was looking for a designer grap bar for my newly remodeled downstairs bathroom. that has 30" in length and not cost too much ;-). This was for my 86 yr old mom. This product met all my expectatiosn and was one of the lowest cost available compare with others. My wife was impressed after I installed it. I am happy!!!!

AFFORDABLE, ELEGANT, SAFETY

As a general contractor specializing in accessibility remodeling, and home modifications for older people who want to stay in their homes rather than move into assisted living, my company installs quite a few grab bars. This particular grab bar is my favorite! It very attractive, very strong, and very competitively priced. People love it when I show them this grab bar. They are used to seeing grab bars like those you see in a commercial bathroom. These grab bars make our roll-in/walk-in showers look very attractive - not institutional. We also use this grab bar as a hand shower slide bar utilizing Moen's DN8005. Great product!
