Not hinged, can't get it over handlebar grips

Unlike the brake lever it replaced, this lever doesn't have a hinge to open up the clamp to get it around the handlebar. Instead, it's designed to slide onto the handlebar from the end. The clearance is very tight. This means you need to remove your handlebar grip to get this lever where it needs to go. There isn't enough clearance to get it over even very thin grips with no flanges. If building a bike from parts or also replacing grips, this lever is fine for casual use. If you're replacing a broken lever and want a hassle free repair, get a lever with a hinge in the handlebar clamp.

Good replacement part.

I purchased this a few months ago to replace the plastic lever that broke on my son's Specialized Hotrock. I wanted to wait until the part got some use before I gave a review. 7 year old boys can be pretty hard on their bikes. This replacement brake lever has held up great. It's stronger than the stock plastic one and I think the 2 tone color looks better also. It fits on the 22mm handlebars no problem. Don't hesitate buying this product.

Great replacement for specialized hotrock 20"

Fixed a broken brake on my kids specialized bike. Get this lever over all the others as its more full finger and has full extension, even for kids. Plus it has an adjustment for reach, which is great, especially for kids bikes. I tried other plastic levers and they did havent the pull and required too much pulling to work

Excellent bike brake lever

Excellent bike brake lever. My son (10 years old) has a Specialized 20" bike. He had a wipe out and bent the left side bike brake lever. I ordered a new the PROMAX right & left lever and replace both brake levers in his bike. The lever is a bit shorter and fits my son's hands perfectly. This is a good quality product and has a good feel. Highly recommended.

Sturdy upgrade

Sturdy replacement for the plastic brake on my child's bike. Very well made from what I can tell. You're going to need to remove the rubber grips on your bike to get this one. Obviously not upper end... but did the trick for my kid's bike.
