I like this lumbar area binder for my lower back issues.

This item is very nice, though mine is new, so time will tell on the issue of how well it lasts. I love the feel of this one, and the seemingly more solid construction, yet more flexible is a big improvement over it's predecessor from the hospital. The binder I received is just as appears on the Amazon site as of 9/24/16. I have back problems, numerous lumbar surgeries and just had my second pain pump implant put in to replace the dying #1 pain pump. The surgeon specified a lumbar wrap similar to this one and it has been a huge help. I wore the one from the hospital as instructed, but it's obviously and lesser quality one, but did last well past the two weeks the doctor wanted me to have the two incisions wrapped tightly. I have slept so much better with a wrap on at night that I bought this one to wear into the future and already like it much more than the other one I had. I'm hoping the velcro on this one lasts better too, but if I only get 3 months out of each binder, so be it. These are a small price to pay for how much improved my sleep is without wearing one.

Just what I needed

It took me a couple of tries before I was able to wear this support comfortably, but it was me, not the support. If you make sure to have the Velcro placed entirely on the connecting fabric, then it's super comfortable. The first time I wore it, about 1/2 inch touched my skin and it scratched me and my skin became red and sore and very uncomfortable in that one spot. When putting it on, I placed the binder way up on my chest and got the Velcro closed correctly, then I pulled it down into place. Also, if I wrapped it too tight, then after a while of traipsing through Disney World, I found it hard to breathe. lol It took me a while to realize why. I still laugh about that! As for the binder itself, it is well-made out of quality fabric and even though the material isn't super-thick, it was very supportive. When walking long distances, my back starts to hurt because my tummy is too big. I didn't have this problem at all with this abdominal support.

Does what it says, but get a little larger than what you think you need if you want to put it on yourself

I wore this for a whole day and it definitely helps with keeping the belly in place, but it gets hot after a while, even though it is lighter than I expected. It does provide a little relief from the pull on my back and helps "control the roll". I am a big girl, wear about a size 20-22 in dresses, and I was barely able to get this thing around me without help. So I suggest double-checking the measurements and get a little bigger than what you think you might need if you want to get dressed unassisted. I got the large/extra large, which according to the guidelines should fit me. However, I am losing weight, and I can use it to help keep the ever-loosening skin around my mid-section from flopping around too much. We'll see.

Fiance had cancer surgery a few years ago, since them he's been left with a massive hernia on his right side and into his back (inoperable so it's pretty severe). We've been looking for a binder he could wear that would be a lot wider than the regular ones you can purchase at regular chain stores. So far this one has worked out relatively well for his needs. Wish it was a little stiffer than it is, as it doesn't always provide as much support as he needs, however it still works. Especially when you take into consideration he wears it for between 14-16 hours a day.

I have worn this for about two months and am still happy. I did trim it down to 2 panels after one week which was easy to do. My only complaint, the velcro scratches if the ends are not matched up..Also, the web site is wrong on total length. I am 34 inches and it fit very well.

I like this product

I like this product, it works well but it is difficult to get on without help. Also, the size runs quite small. I have a 38 inch waist and am at the very edge of this products size. I recommend getting at least one size larger than you think you need.

Good binder

Very itchy at first but put an under shirt on and then the binder and it works well. Using this after my umbilical hernia surgery and it works very well and a good size. Sturdy material

Im a big boy and it works great.

It works pretty good for me . I have a insisional hernia and it's quite large. I need to use 2 of these. There comfortable and lightweight. I only wish they would make a 15in wide version.

very poor fabric quality.

Fabric easily damaged by velcro . Not even try to use . Not recommended.
