SCREWED TO COUNTERTOP?
Not even in the description but this is not free standing. Open the lid and it tips over. There are two screw holes to mount it to....what, your kitchen countertop? Worst LEM product I own. It's collecting dust and I'm using a plastic patty maker that was only $3. The threads for the thickness adjustment are very rough so you'll need food grade grease on the threads. The adjustment plate isn't even a correct fit. It's lopsided and leaves the patty at an angle, leaving the patty thick on one side and thinner on the other. Very disappointed in this LEM product. I can't believe they put their name on it.

Fantastic!
Much easier than I thought to make burger patties. Easy to adjust for thickness. Be sure you order the patty sheets from LEM to use with it. They are actually cheap since you get 1,000 in a box. Using the sheets on the bottom and top of the burgers not only keeps them from sticking to the press, but they go into your storage bags as separators. After freezing they will separate easily. The two make life much easier f you make more than a few patties at a time.

Works as expected
Not sure why the low ratings. I used wax paper squares to keep it clean. Adjusted easy. Patties came out uniform and perfect.

Order the cut paper inserts makes it easer.
It works great, I MAKE TWO THIN PATTIES AND PUT MY STUFFING BETWEEN THEM. I LIKE TO USE SWEET PEPPERS, ONION, AND FRESH GARLIC , SAUTED TILL DONE. Seasoned. And , spoon it on the bottom patty, add cheese , and top with the other patty and pan fry.

Not easy to use
Must match burger thickness manually by trial and error otherwise meat either comes out the sides or doesn’t form a good patty. Must disassemble completely to properly clean..Too cumbersome for me so I returned and purchased another press that works very well and easy to clean.

Set your thickness, slap down some plastic and go. To clean take apart and wash by hand. Great tool.

Easy, solid, uniform burgers!
I looked for months for a burger press before purchasing this one. So far I am very pleased with this product. The aluminum material in this product keep it light weight, but still strong and durable. I love the depth measurements marked on the press. The 1/4” mark makes a nice solid burger for the whole family. The burger thickness can easily be adjusted too. The press is great for evenly distributing the pressure to hold the burger together, especially great for making burgers with add ins, such as onion & mushrooms, jalapeño & cheese... the possibilities are endless. There is a small trick of finding the right about amount of burger to put in the press once the depth is set. Easily accomplished with a measuring cup or ice cream scoop. The manufacturer indicates this product to be stick free. My first attempts stuck... to the top, then the bottom. Thankfully I had ordered the wax / parchment papers also. They conquered the problem of sticking, but also wraps the burger tightly, which looks like it would be great protection against freezer burn... if your burgers make it to the freezer. Mine didn’t make it to the freezer yet.

Very easy to use.
We bought it to make bulk burgers that we can freeze and cook from frozen for a meal in a pinch. The one we got did not have the color logo on it and it feels a little rough on fit and finish. It appears to be cast aluminum which is fine but it would have been nice to have a finer finish. The thickness measurement markings on the top pad stem are a little hard to read. It could have a paint job to make the markings easier to read. These facts however have nothing to do with the functionality, and it works great! We are using 3/4 of a cup of medium-ground and it makes the perfect patty for our thickness setting. I would strongly suggest getting the waxed burger sheets to make burgers easier to separate if you make them in bulk for freezing.

Hoped for better..
I took a long time deciding on this product as it was a gift for someone who appreciates function and form. It had to be solid for longevity and of good design. Sadly, it's not as good as I hoped. I wanted cast iron but they don't seem to exist, so went with cast aluminium instead. The design seems pretty robust but problem is the finish. It's shabby at best. The edges are very rough (see handle and knob in the photos) and the machining on the middle nut is so bad that it's about 10 degrees out, I assumed it was cross-threaded but after spending a few minutes trying to correct it I realized there's no improvement to be made. Sloppy, with no quality control it would appear.
