Lightweight, sturdy boxes great for organizing and storing glassware

Please note that in this review I am writing specifically about the GLASSWARE storage boxes ("Red Wine Glass," "White Wine Glass," and "Coffee Cup" boxes). I have not purchased any of the boxes designed for storing dishes. I'm a huge collector of vintage cocktail glasses, and I use the boxes to store them. I literally have 15 of these boxes on shelves in my basement filled with glasses of all types: rocks/old-fashioned glasses, tall/Collins glasses, coupe glasses, even Tiki glasses! You can use these to store glasses of all different shapes and sizes. Here are the pros and cons of these boxes (again, when used for GLASSWARE). Pros: - Very lightweight - Stackable (see photo) - Sturdy enough for storage - Clear plastic window on one side allows you to see what's inside the box - Nice carrying handles Cons: - Not exactly "heavy duty" - No cushioning inside the compartments (see my photos which show the box interior with some glasses in them) - The window only allows you to see the glasses on one side of the box; you have to lift the lid to see the others (this is only an issue if, like me, you store several different types of glasses in one box) A few notes of caution: 1) These boxes work great for STORAGE of glassware, but keep in mind that they are not padded on the inside. If you need something to organize your glassware you aren't using so you can store it on shelves, this is your answer. I would NOT, however use these for moving glassware, and certainly not for shipping it! 2) If you use these to store thin (as in, narrow-diameter) glasses such as Champagne flutes, the glasses will have some "play" within the compartments. You may want to wrap something around them so they don't move around too much and bang against the sides of their compartments, which could cause them to break. Here's a tip: If you store fragile glassware in these, buy some foam glassware storage sleeves from U-Haul or another shipping/moving company. The first put each glass inside a foam sleeve before putting it inside one of these boxes. The foam sleeves will cushion the glasses and prevent them from moving around so much. (See my last photo, which shows some glasses wrapped in the foam sleeves.) Hope these tips are helpful!

Very nice storage containers.

These storage boxes are very sturdy and great protection for my aunt's favorite set of goblets that I inherited after she died. They have strong fabric handles on both sides. Very attractive, too. I am so happy that my glasses fit perfectly in the compartments. I wasn't sure which style to choose, but I hit the nail on the head! It would have been helpful if the descriptions had included exact measurements of the individual compartments. They are 4 1/8" square and 7 3/4" tall. I have two sets of 12 glasses so I bought 2 boxes. One set of glasses is 4" X 6 1/4" and the other set is 4" X 5". The shorter set has room to spare at top, but that is fine. It would have been a bit more useful for my purpose if the boxes had a wipe-clean exterior instead of cloth since I will be storing these in the basement. I knew this before I bought them, but others I had seen with plastic exteriors did not seem to be as good quality as these, so I opted for quality. I will probably purchase a large plastic bin to store the boxes in. Overall I am very happy with these containers, and I feel they were a good purchase. I definitely would recommend them.

Too expensive for what you get

I bought several of these in different sizes for wine glasses, champagne flutes, and some assorted inherited china pieces. The height on the balloon wine glasses one is about two inches too short for any wine glasses I own (regular old lenox) except stemless. It's fine, I can use them for those or for the crystal. I was confused by the bullet point and thought "deep" meant how deep it was top to bottom, not how wide front to back. Would have been helpful to have "glasses no more than 8.5 inches tall" in that bullet point. Build is fine, as expected. Went together easily. It's just a plain old poly-canvas cardboard box with a lid and cardboard dividers. Sides are neither what I'd call sturdy or flimsy, but definitely not what I'd call reinforced (expect to cut your own cardboard if you care). At $15 bucks each for something that feels like it should cost about $5, I assume I'm paying a premium not to have to go to Walmart, but there are cheaper versions of this available on Amazon you'd have to reinforce too. I kind of regret not just buying empty banker boxes + a separate cardboard divider kit (or making my own, which is what I'll have to do for the bigger glasses) but I guess at least this way I know it all fits together and it's easy.

Just what I wanted

These are not the strongest boxes but I love the see through window and they are perfect for storing and protecting my best crystal when I am not using it. They stack well too. I have had them for 3-4 years and they moved easily when I downsized 2 years ago.

Love these for excess wine glasses

I'm a sucker for wine glasses - have way too many, and have been using up too much cabinet space for them. But I didn't want to pack them up in boxes and put away (never to be found again) so I ordered several of these boxes. They are great. some boxes allow for taller stemware than others, so I bought several, but am doing one review. They are extremely easy to put together. A 3 year old could do it. Seem to be durable and I like the window that lets me see what is in each box.

Good, but not Super Sturdy

For me, it was the right size for storing smaller glass vases that if got broken would not be a big deal. If you have really nice wine glasses or something similar, pay more for a sturdier case.

Sturdy priced right

I've purchased several of these containers. Nice looking. sturdy and easy to put together. I've purchased many containers made by the same company and will continue to do so as needed.

Very convenient and easy to use

Very convenient and easy to use. Used for wine glasses when we were moving to a new house. I used foam paper to wrap each glass and put them in this case. I had 3 cases and moved 36 wine glasses. Not a single broken or chipped. Really liked it and kept them to store extra glasses

Perfect for what I needed

I now have a couple of these storage boxes for different size glasses. Love them all. They are sturdy enough, the dividers are good sizes and the see thru window makes it easy to see what's inside. When I need more, this is what I'll be getting.

Great storage box for stemmed glassware

The storage box arrived quickly and I was able to put away many wine glasses that are otherwise at risk of being knocked over and breaking. Was unable to store the champagne flutes as they are extended length in their stem. But without all the other wine glasses to dig thru even the flutes will be less likely to fall over and break.
