Great size for big kid or adult

My nine year old has a 20” bike and it’s slightly big for it , but we like that her helmet fits in there and the basket is not too heavy. She will upgrade to a bigger bike soon so we’ll keep this size basket.overall a great basket. The buckle that goes on the velcro strap was broken that’s why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. We made it work with zip ties to secure the velcro strap. We also attached the reflector on the front of the basket with zip ties. This basket is the perfect size for an adult bike as well.

Great product value.

Good, affordable basket! Lift the handles to unlock the basket and take it with you; put the basket on the mounting bracket, line up the locking tabs and drop the handles to lock it back into place. Pros: -Fairly easy set-up. (Just be mindful of how you run your shifter and brake cable housings because if they are under tension from the way you run them around the bracket, it'll throw your indexed shifting out of whack and add resistance to pulling the brake levers.) -Easy to put basket on and take off of the mounting bracket. -Big enough to actually hold stuff, small enough to be manageable on your bike. -Fun colors. Cons: Not a tight fit between the basket and the mounting bracket so it can rattle a bit on bumpy terrain, but it's not likely to come off the bracket while you're riding as long as the handles are laying down/locking in the basket. If you hit a big bump at higher speed, you have a chance of it unlocking especially without any front shock absorbers. However you're more likely to have the contents of your basket fly out than the whole basket and its contents knocked loose. The bottom contact point of the bracket is only held with a flimsy Velcro strap, so there is some looseness there as well. Also, the strap will wear pretty quickly since it isn't totally immobilized. Overall, if you have any mechanical inclination at all, you can rig a more solid installation of this thing, but its general use is for leisurely rides where you're getting a little load of groceries or taking something on a little trip and it's fine as it is for this purpose.

Neat lift-off basket for commuting and running errands by bike!

I love this basket for running errands by bike (something I do a lot!). It works great for smaller trips into stores with its easy handle lift-off feature, but it can be a slight bit difficult to place back on the bike once the basket is full and you cannot see the holes on the bottom of the basket to line up with the base (this is not a big deal, though). My main complaint is just that the lift-off feature makes the basket a slight bit loose in its base, which makes for easier removal and replacement of the basket on the base but also means that when you are biking at a faster pace over poorly maintained, bumpy roads, the basket does bounce around a bit in the base and could possibly fall off if you biked over a larger bump. It would be nice if the basket fit a little bit securely; something which I may correct with duct tape. You could permanently attached the basket to the base and eliminate this problem, but then you wouldn't be able to so conveniently remove the basket to take into stores when running errands. So it is something I can live with but it would be awesome if Colorbasket could fix this in future models! Overall, this basket is great and does the trick.

Good basket but one problem solved.

I've gone through several baskets in search of the right one. The best was a Bell product I bought years ago at America's most ubiquitous retailer. It had a slip-on bracket that the basket latched onto. The main advantage was that the basket was detachable, and the bracket could be quickly removed too. The disadvantage, of course, is that the basket and bracket parted company in the mess of my garage. One or two failed substitutes later, I bought this basket. The bracket slips over the handlebars while the bottom of it rests against the top of the front fork, thereby making a stand-off that prevents the basket from slumping onto the front tire (which is THE design flaw of baskets fastened only to the handlebars). However, the bracket compressed the front brake cable, which meant the brake pads were rubbing the rim. (My Trek has center pull brakes.) The solution was simple. I took a wine cork, notched it, and pushed it between the bracket and fork so that the bracket wasn't pressing the cable. I'm hoping the notch will keep the cork from slipping off. But if it does, it's a great excuse to drink a bottle of wine.

This basket is awesome

Does everything that it says! I fits perfectly on my beach cruiser style bike. Easy to take on and off. Fit snug and didn't worry that it was going to fall off, even going over bumps. There are some concerns of other reviewers that the basket falls off upon hitting a bump, but I didn't experience this at all. The way the basket secures to the holder is when you put the basket on, the handles are pulled up in a holding position. When placed on the holder, the handles are "opened" and rest on top of the basket and the handles act like a hook-lock when moved from the upright to laying position. The concern is that when going over a bump, the handles naturally bounce up, unlocking the basket and when they come back down, they don't line up correctly and thus the basket falls off and you run over it (or yourself by this point). I didn't experience any of this and feel that the handles are quite secure and the hook-lock quite snug. I would recommend this basket to someone looking to outfit their bike with something practical and cute.

Easy to install, fits great!

Ordered for my dog so I can take her to work and its great! Good quality, easy to install, and fits a 7lb dog great lol! Love how it has handles and lifts off easily and goes back on just as easy.
