I installed this on a 2018 Ford EcoSport. The reason I picked this item is because when I looked at getting my trailer hitch and lights installed from U-Haul this is the piece they were going to use for the trailer lights. I installed the module behind the driverside tail light. The wire to go to the right tail light for the blinker was not long enough and I had to add on which I used 14 gauge stranded wire and a waterproof butt connector. The connectors that came with it were to large for the wiring in the car so after I put everything back together only the running lights worked because the connectors didn't penetrate the wires. I tore it back apart and put smaller connectors on and everything worked great. I did accidentally end up cutting a wire trying to put the connectors on but I believe it was a faulty connector and ended up using a crimp nut. Overall it works great after a 4 hour install but im no pro, there was allot of trim I had to remove in my car, and I had to take a trip to the hardware. Running the wires was a pain and the short wire going to the passenger turn signal was annoying. Ecosports are super skinny and I had to add on about a 1 -1.5 ft of wire to make it to the right blinker. This is not a vehicle specific item( which most the time is an adapter for your tail light plugs, super simple) and the vehicle specific item for trailer lighting was about $200 more so id say the trouble was worth it but the wire going to the right turn signal should be longer. Also the wire going to the battery I ran underneath all the trim on the driver side floor and I cut off about 3ft, the ecosport is super short so you may have to add on to that too depending on what your installing it on. Overall yes I would recommend to others cause it's cheap compared to a vehicle specific setup but you need be able to figure out what wires do what (I used a DC 3-24volt meter, you could also use a multi meter, on the tail light plugs) and be able to do basic wire connections. Take your time it's not as terrible as it seems lol.

Installation went well for the unit on a BMW X5, I wish there was a 5-pin for trailers with back up surge breaks. I had to add a separate relay and splice one more wire to install the 5 pin connector.

Dont pay a shop, get this and diy it.
Super simple install as a certain large truck rental and hitch installation company has quite a few tutorials on YT and they just happen to have videos for both my cars i was installing them on. The splice connectors are handy but if your tail light access panel is exposed to the elements such as a truck vs an SUV where the panel lies within the cabin of the vehicle, you should use solder and heat shrink or you risk corrosion build up and problems down the road

Throw the butt connectors away - they are garbage!
Great product, installation was somewhat easy. YouTube will give you great information. If you are using this product on a Minivan (like me - VW Eurovan), and do not have a straight shot to the battery (not likely), the black power wire is too short, so be prepared to improvise. If you can, solder the wires to the connectors or buy better connectors. Also, use solder and heat shrink to integrate the fuse wire to the black battery wire, and cover the soldered wires with heat shrink, otherwise be prepared for the wires to slip out of the butt connectors. This was very frustrating for me, even though I used a vise grip to crumple the butt connectors around the wires. This issue added unnecessary time to the install. I would have given this 5 stars if the butt connectors weren't so awful, and the black battery wire was long enough for minivans. I had to integrate 2 foot extension to avoid the heat and pinch points to reach the battery. Curt - you have a great product that you have diluted by providing those useless butt connectors. Your R&D Team really needs to improve this weak link in an otherwise nice product (push and lock connectors maybe). It would appear that you designed this product for cars. Please consider providing extensions for longer vehicles, which if we're talking about towing - it is more likely to be a truck or a van. The (press and snap) connectors that you provide for the turn signals work well.

Works for me
I used this on my 2008 Navion IQ, which had the Winnebago installed 7 pin connector, wired for European style trailers. Had previously tried a non-powered 3-2 connector from U-Haul that did not work. I also purchased a plug to connect this to the 7 pin connector. Took power from the house batteries, wired it up, and it works fine, both with LED and incandescent trailer lights, with a standard 4-pin connector.

Works on 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport
Installed it on Nissan Rogue Sport in less than 30 minutes. Use a light tester to make sure they work correctly before putting all the trim back into place. there is a white connection in the back meant for the factory trailer light connection that can be tapped into instead of running the black cable all the way to the battery.

Mercedes C300 W204 2008
This is the right module to install on mercedes C 300 , year 2008 and up. I have tried other brand like" reese "and when i turned on my tail light,my brake lights would also turn on , but this one works perfectly. I took my 12 volts power on the sam module on the back passenger side Very happy of my job

Awesome product, complete installation kit.
Installed on my 2018 Volkswagen GTi. Very easy to install, required basic vehicle wiring knowledge and a multimeter but it works exactly as expected.
