Great alternative to under sink
I rent and needed an option that wasn't too much work. The faucet adapter was a struggle for me because the spigot my landlord installed is not common - but eventually I got it figured out. The hoses are somewhat rigid so depending on counter space it could be difficult to weave them into a place of your liking, but that also worked out. Once installed, I have been very happy with the unit. The taste and ease of use is great. Start faucet, pull small plug to activate filtered water and when done, just turn off spigot - the plug will close itself when the water pressure decreases. In regards to the filter replacement - it's true that it isn't easy, but it is possible. I had my unit 7 months before changing the filter and it's just important to know to push down the gray ring to disconnect the hoses and to employ a pliers to unscrew if needed. I wrapped the wingnut with a dishcloth and hammered a bit with the nose of a pliers and that loosened it enough to unscrew by hand. One other note - I noticed multi-streams from the spigot so I unscrewed the small output nozzle to find three very small metal strainers. One had rust gunk in it so I just threw it away and once back together the water comes out in a single stream again. Overall great product.

Easy to install if....
You really need to have a ratcheting wrench with a 17mm socket. Then removal is a breeze. First remove the tubes by holding down the grey ring (that sits on top of the colored ring) where the tube attaches to the unit. Then simultaneously pull up the tubes at the elbow. Use your ratchet to open each cap (the "loosen" direction is imprinted on each cap). Use pliers to remove the two filters. Make sure the o-rings sit securely inside the screw holes. Insert the "A" filter -- nipple end first. Press and rotate. Place the "A" cap in the screw hole. Tighten by hand (in the opposite direction of the "loosen" direction imprinted on the cap). Place the cap onto the "B" filter's nipple end. IMPORTANT: The "A" nipple points into the unit, the "B" is the opposite -- the nipple points out to the cap. Just like batteries. Insert the B filter/cap into the B hole (no need to rotate). Hand tighten. And then snugly tighten with the ratchet wrench. Insert the tubes. Start the water and let it run for 10 minutes. Yay -- full stream! I can imagine how difficult this would be without the proper tools.

Quality factory replacement filters that capture impurities even in the cleanest of sources.
Despite claims that our municipal water supply is world famous for its purity, these filters successfully screen out significant impurities that are visible and I can only imagine it also captures many non-visible impurities as well. These are factory replacements and they do not impede water flow as much as some of the cheaper after market filters which may not filter as well either. These do not alter flavor significantly although it does remove the flavor we associate with flouride and chlorine that is sometimes noticeable without the filters. The factory design can make it a bit cumbersome to replace these but that is due to system design, not these filters specifically. Be sure to install with correct order (blue vs. white) and in the correct orientation to ensure they function correctly as it is easy to install improperly. Observe what you remove and replace in the same manner. The price and delivery via Amazon has been very satisfactory.

Aquasana filters, definitely worth it
$60 for a filter that will last 6 months, can't beat it! The water clearly tastes better through the Aquasana filter as opposed to straight tap water. never noticed it before, but I can actually smell the chlorine in our tap water when I don't use the filter. My wife, for some reason doesn't use the filtered water, sometimes when she pours me a glass of water I can tell immediately that it's the tap water. The taste and smell are noticeably different. She says I'm crazy, but after drinking the filtered water it has ruined me for tap water. I've been using these filters now for 2 years, have never had any problems with them or with water pressure as I've read on other reviews. When you replace your filters, take a look at the used ones and compare the coloring to the new filters, you'll see how brown the used filters are, if not, maybe it's our local water. :)

Water Filter
Arrived quicker than getting it from Aquasana. Easy to install and seems to filter out the bleach smell.

Better than aquasana
I was subscribed to Aquasana water for life earlier but it had problems delivering to my area, so I cancelled that and tried on amazon. Same quality minus the hazzle of having to commit to a water for life program to get free shipping. Highly recommend.

Filtered water leaves hazy deposit
I have been using Aquasana AQ-4500 Complete Under Counter Water Filter System for 3 years (not 2 as I mentioned in my other review). I bought it directly from Aquasana, not through Amazon. However, I am reviewing it on Amazon because of a better review climate. I use a clear glass pitcher to collect the filtered water. And with time, I noticed a hazy deposit on walls and bottom of the pitcher after the water is used up. The deposit is thickest on the bottom of the pitcher, and can be scraped off like thick plastic with a finger, or cleaned with sponge and soap. Some of your reviews mention Potassium ions, and some, problem with a glue. Whatever the problem is, a heavy deposit on walls of container makes me question the quality of Aquasana filtration system. Recently I tried the Aquasana Compatible Water Filters that sell on Amazon for $34.99. The water runs through them much faster than through AQ-4035 and there is no hazy deposit, but there is a taste of plastic in the water, which persists even after running the water for a long time. I would really like to find a filtration system that does not have these problems. 05-29-2013. I sent an email to Aquasana customer service describing this situation. Here is their reply: "You may be noticing the potassium from the ion exchange process. This is normal and nothing to worry about". Can anyone shed some light on this subject? Is potassium residue harmless? After all, some people take potassium supplements.

Careful
I've used my Aquasana now for 2 years. Went to change the filters, no problem. Turn on the tap, nothing. Wait.... nothing. After some troubleshooting,I guess there was some sediment or something on the filters that went into the hoses and clogged it up. Took me 2 days of running it, using compressed air to finally get it flowing again

Worth the money.
Smaller than expected. Haven’t used them as yet but glad a purchased them as extra filters, when needed.
