Nice
Just as expected, this is a nice, simple quiet fan. The quality seems good, and I've had good experience with this brand in the past. I like the look. It's balanced and traditional looking, but it's conservative enough to blend into its surroundings, staying out of sight, which is best for the room it's in. Happy with it.

Nice fan but a pain to install
I needed a new ceiling fan for my dining area and I wanted something very basic with a light. This totally fits what I was looking for, so I gave it a shot. I assumed that installing it would take less than an hour, especially because I had everything ready to go. I got the old fan down, put in the hanging bracket for this fan and started to assemble the fan motor housing and down rod. That’s where things became more frustrating. One of the screws that is used to secure the down rod to the motor housing wouldn’t budge…at all. I carefully tried a few different approaches, but even that was stripping the screw head. I had to put some WD-40 around the threads and head and let the whole thing sit. Finally after almost completely stripping the screw head I just grabbed some locking pliers and very carefully freed the screw enough to get the down rod secured. Wiring was easy, but with so much extra length in wires and not a lot of room above the ceiling, I barely was able to get the cover on and secured. The plastic tabs that should’ve been thrown out when attaching the fan blade arms to the housing were almost melted/fused to the screws so that took another 10 minutes alone just freeing them. After about an hour and a half I finally got it all fully installed. Everything worked fine, I was just very annoyed at the roadblocks that made this whole thing take twice as long. I will say that the pull chain to change the fan speed doesn’t engage properly all of the time, so it can be a pain just to change the speed or turn off the fan from the chain as well. This is your basic contractors special type ceiling fan and the installation alone showed that to be true. It does look good and work well though….so I can’t complain too much.

Easier to install than the old one was to remove.
Upfront disclosure: I received this item through the Amazon Vine program for review. In my house we have taken one of our bedrooms and use it as a guest room and office/sewing room. This room has a Hunter Douglas ceiling fan that probably dates to the early 90's. The fan worked alright but was showing some signs that the bearings were starting to wear out and it used 5 light bulbs which was overkill in that room. So when I saw this fan, I ordered it as a replacement. Removing that old fan took me several hours because of how difficult it is to remove certain portions. Thankfully installing this new fan was wonderfully easy. The instructions are very clear and I had it assembled in under 30 minutes (and I am pedantic when doing these things so it always takes me a bit longer than expected). Everything was easy to connect up and mount. Not one part of it gave me an ounce of difficulty which was a wonderful relief after the ordeal of removing the old one. The fan is nicely balanced, lights (2 standard LED bulbs were included) worked exactly as they should. This is a pretty basic fan, but it assembles easily, works perfectly, and looks nice too! If i had to identify one area that was less than perfect, the medalions that hang from the chains look like really cheap gold plastic, but that is also something that is super easy to change later. Even then they are nice because they have clear icons and writing identifying which chain is the light and which is the fan, so for now I have left them for the ease of operation they grant. Great fan and totally would buy another one.

Westinghouse fan... that's about all you need to hear, good to go
There are several name brands of Fan you can just expect to be a good product. Westinghouse is one. Just lives up to the name. This installed just great. And its in the contractor series (so there's a bit of cheapness/ease associated) not like a premium deluxe or something a private owner might try to do. Personally, I put this up in my living room. Its just great. Plenty of length in wire to go onto my extended downrod. If you are using the included 2" downrod, yes, clip some of the extra wiring to make room. Easy to do. All the screws went on great, and the sound-assist vibration-resistant gaskets that go between the motor, blade mounts, and blades are fine. My own house wiring colors didn't quite match, but for some reason my house is just weird and hardly ever matches manuals. I had noted which wire colors were attached to the fan before removing the old one. Used a stepper switch on the wall since this is a high ceiling, works just fine. The light it puts out is nice, too.

Nice and quiet in a simplistic style.
This is a great basic ceiling fan for the purpose we needed it for. It's not top of the line, like a Minka Aire, but it's certainly an adequate and attractive ceiling fan. It's also Westinghouse brand and not some unknown unheard of brand and it has a lifetime warranty on the motor. It was a bit of a pain to install due to some of the holes not matching up correctly. This is a 52" 5 blade ceiling fan with a light fixture. I like that the blades are reversible to light maple blades. Even if you start with the white blades and then later want a change, switch them to the light maple. The light fixture is frosted glass and contains two LED bulbs. Being LED, they should last awhile. This fan is in my son in law's workshop. His workshop is totally enclosed like a small house. And this simplistic design was perfect for his workplace. It's quiet and pushes enough wind to keep him cool. Keep in mind this fan is INSIDE only. It's not a fan you should install on a covered patio or anywhere outside. So, my son in law is very happy with his new fan and I think it'll provide years of service for him. I think this pretty fan would be a beautiful addition to your home.

Just what we needed
Ceiling fan looks nice and was easy to install. Straight forward instructions. The fan is quiet and I like the amount of light- the original light fixture in this room made it seem dark.
