Holy Grail
I’ve used a ton of shampoo products over the last two years and none have ever left my scalp feeling as clean as this one does. No product build up. I love that it has no scent or coconut oil (I think I’m allergic to it, tbh and might’ve been the source of a lot of the product build up I experienced and itchiness). I wash my hair once a week, and the only time my scalp ever itches now is when it’s around the time to wash my hair again (usually the day before or of). I’ve seen a few of the past reviews saying that it doesn’t foam well, but the first shampoo application isn’t meant to foam up. It’s meant to cleanse, which it does. It foams just fine for me on the second shampoo. Rubbing it between your hands also helps if you have trouble with foaming. I wouldn’t recommend putting shampoo straight onto your scalp. I do, however, agree with the reviews saying that it leaves your hair feeling stripped. You definitely need a good hair mask and/or deep conditioner after to get the moisture back.

The shampoo is also a CLARIFYING shampoo!
This was recommended to me by my dermatologist because it is hypoallergenic and because it clarifies the scalp. This means that it gets rid of buildup and other product(s) that might be on your hair and scalp. My itchiness was caused by propylene glycol (not uncommon) in Rogaine and other hair products. Using this daily got rid of the itch in a matter of days, and I could still continue to use products with propylene glycol as long as I use this daily. The shampoo *will* dry your hair if you don't use their conditioner as well. The conditioner really leaves the hair soft if you follow the instructions on the bottle by leaving it on for several minutes. The conditioner also has Vitamin B-5 (panthenol) for hair thickness/strength and Arginine for scalp blood flow, which is great for hair growth and hair health. I recommend the shampoo for sensitive scalp & its clarifying properties. I also recommend the conditioner.

Squeaky Clean
I purchased this shampoo because I was having an issue with an itchy scalp. When my hair is wet, it is squeaky clean. The only problem I have is that the bottles are hard to squeeze with my hand that has arthritis.

It works quite well at removing products in your hair
I've been trying a bunch of shampoos looking for one that works for my sensitive scalp including my scalp ezcema and I gotta say I was happy after a few days of use with this one and I don't mind the scent, I was expecting not a good smell after use but it's nice mild clean scent. I use it a few times a week now because at first I was using the shampoo everyday but noticed it was really drying out my hair and scalp but however it wasn't making my scalp worse or causing breakouts to worsen. Also a little bit of it goes along way and foams real easy. I'm definitely over all satisfied and gonna be using this shampoo for years to come.

the important feature of this product is that it is scent free. I like this because I am sensitive to scent.

Truly fragrance free!
I have always been sensitive to fragrances. I used to be able to tolerate products with a light scent but not I’m getting to the point where any hint of fragrance makes my eyes swell and I get a terrible headache. I am now having to look for 100% fragrance free products which is how I discovered Vanicream. I had purchased their face cleanser which is awesome so I decided to try out the shampoo. The pros are, it is truly fragrance free. It provides a good lather and gets your hair clean. The con for me is that it doesn’t provide enough moisture. My scalp is oily so I do appreciate that this product helps to keep my scalp oil free but my hair is long, course and curly. That’s where I need the moisture. After using this shampoo, I had to use double the amount of conditioner to get my hair detangled. The extra conditioner I had to use, left my hair limp and it was difficult to style. I think this a really good product but not for my course, long, curly hair.

my curls…
i use this with the matching conditioner which helps but as someone with a really rare allergy + some regular allergies which don’t allow me to use ANY scents or many ingredients common in shampoos, this is the best alternative i’ve found. i have very thin hair with 3A curls and this really strips out moisture, unfortunately, but again using with the conditioner helps to restore that. i use olive oil on my scalp for hair growth sometimes and two rounds of shampooing with this is perfect to get all the oil residue out! smells a little like alcohol but only if you really sniff for it. all in all, the shampoo is definitely drying for the scalp and hair but for me that is manageable… i wish there was a curl-safe formula for this shampoo or any sort of curl-safe product for ppl with very sensitive skin! this does the job in the interim.

No more itchy head
It cleans hair really good. It leaves my hair beautiful and very manageable. I have long heavy naturally curly hair. Most of all my scalp is not itchy anymore. And I’ve tried many different, free and clear shampoos.
