Perfect hands free leash for training and walks!

I bought this leash to use to train my puppy to walk hands-free. It is made from extremely durable material with a shock absorbing handle. I bought the purple color and it is beautiful! I recommend this to all of my friends that ask where I got the leash from. Also, there is a handle towards the dog's end of the leash with padding that you can use quickly if needed. I am very pleased with my purchase!

One of my favorites

I really like this leash! It is well-made, with reflective stitching, and allows for hands-free dog walking, which comes in handy when visiting stores or farmers markets. The only thing that keeps it from being a five star rating is the slide mechanism, which allows your dog to cinch the waist section if they pull from the right angle.

Perfect leash that can be used many ways.

I am a dog walker and really like this leash. When I first got it, I just wasn't sure, but now I love it. I use it as waist belt and hook it to a single dog's collar. All of the dogs I walk just have collars. I like the bungee part and it is holding up nicely. I have used the handle/waist belt/collar as a collar when I couldn't find a dog's harness. I use the loop down by the snap when crossing the street. I use the leash for hands free walking. I wish I bought two when ordering. I had another leash that basically did the same thing without the bungee and didn't think I needed two at the time. Going to order another one soon. The leash is light weight compared to others. The strap is reflective which I really like as sometimes I am out after dark. Update: (4/28/2022) I bought the smaller version in blue to use on the smaller dogs. I actually had been using the larger leash on smaller dogs with no problem, but sometimes I walk a second dog and can use this leash if the dog is a smaller dog. The only thing that makes the smaller leash weird is the little handhold near the snap. I can't grab that all the way down there. I used the loop all the time on the larger leash with a big dog when crossing the street or whenever I need more control. Just no way that I can reach it when the leash is on a little dog. Would have been better to put a loop up above the bungee part for the smaller dogs. Anyhow, I use the leash I purchased first every day and sometimes for more than one dog. I wanted the smaller leash for the smaller dogs and I just don't think I need any other leashes. The bungee really helps keep me from getting really jerked around.

Works great after fixing manufacturing defect

When this arrived and I buckled the handle together, it came apart at the slightest pull (less than 1lb) so was unusable. It was because nibs on the male part of the snap connector were not removed, so it did not insert enough for the hooks to fully engage. I used a file to remove the nibs ,as well as put a bit more angle on the hooks of the connector, and now it works fine. I had one of these leashes long ago, and it is very handy when you need to attach it to your waist or something like a chair or light pole to tether the dog. It was expensive and very well made, with three or so feet of bungee. But I lost it. This current leash is poorer quality compared to the old one and stretches less, but it is much less expensive and works fine once modified. It is unique among most other leashes in that you can make a giant loop with the handle. Update after a few months' use: I had two dogs attached to the leash connected to a post and a couple minutes later they were roaming free. The buckle on the handle had broken, perhaps since I had to file it down to remove the nibs to make it useable and it had gotten weaker. I bought another one and am happy to report that it did not have the defect that made the first one unusable, so perhaps this one will last longer since it did not require modification.

Purchasing this 2nd of my favorite leash!

I this is my favorite leash: I have taught my dog ( using the pet corrector ) to not pull and this leash helped his learning . I tie a few knots in the leash in case he forgets an lunges. This leash had a lot of some sort of fuzz I had to clean out of of the bungee cord . No big deal, but since it was manufactured in China who knows what it was!

Great Quality Leash

I really liked the leash and wish I had been able to keep it. Unfortunately, I ended up returning it because it was too long and heavy for my dog. The sizing is really tricky and doesn't work well for mid-sized dogs. The clips and details are really well-made. Wish there were more sizes available.

it would have been the perfect leash if the the second handle is little bit higher

The leash looks good, and I love that the main handle can be adjusted and becomes a waist band. The only thing is that the second handle (the one closer to the dog) is way to low. Both the elastic and the second handle could move have half feet or so, it would have been perfect. My dog is 45 pounds, not exactly a small dog, and if she has a harness, I'm not able to use the second handle to walk her comfortably. Other than that, great leash.

A Good Quality Product

This is a great lead, I have 2 or 3 different leads for my greyhound but what attracted me to this one was the fact that it can be worn round your waist with the extra fastening provided. It's about 6'6"in length and can of course be used like a conventional lead but it can be adjusted so it can be worn. If it wasn't for this I probably wouldn't have bought it as I didn't really need another lead but the fact it could be used hands free was the clincher for me. Good quality and well made and will certainly withstand pulling from a larger dog like a greyhound. The stitching doesn't show any signs yet of fraying although to be honest I've only had it a week or so but it has been used at least twice daily. When adjusted to be worn the length is just right to give your dog a certain amount of freedom yet you're still in control at all times, it doesn't drag on the ground and doesn't hinder the dog in any way. Halti have been making quality gear for dogs for years, this is no exception in my view. There is an elasticated section which absorbs some of the shocks if your dog pulls a bit.

Great Value for the price

Very Sturdy even the stretchy bit, Nice reflective material I bought two a the price is super for what you get. What I miss is an extra D ring and this is why the Lead gets a star less The top loop for your hand is fixed with a plastic clip, this clip can be moved to adjust the length of the lead. I have squeezed my fingers twice in the pastic clip when taking the lead short and grabbing it under the clip, when crossing the road. I would have preferred a metal carabin and a D Ring in any way to be able to pull the lead through the D ring when I shorten the lead, to have a safer smaller loop for my hand.. Since the lead is otherwise brilliant we just knotted another loop in it. The dogs in question are heavy and large (30 and 20 kg) Bought for Hiking and walks bought two of them and happy out. Very good price for what you get. There is more comfortable belt and lead options for other brands for working out. but we might combine them with these leads.

Ultimately Disappointed

At first I thought this lead was really good and I especially liked the ‘shock absorber’ built in, however, after less than a week the fabric of the main body of the lead started to fray and unravel where it joined the ‘shock absorber’. This is the second time it happened, the first lead lasted about a month before I had to throw it away so I bought a second thinking I’d just been unlucky . The second one I returned to Amazon and they did refund me for that one. Won’t buy again .

Almost Perfect

Bought as puppy pulled standard lead out of my hand and ran away...Been thinking of a hands free leash for a while and this one is excellent, one addition to make it perfect would be another handle on the other side of the bungee; when wearing in hands free mode, and being paranoid about clip perhaps giving way, a handle here would be perfect as alternative grip. I would definitely recommend this leash.

Strong and sturdy. Good quality

Very well made. Strong and sturdy. Good quality. The handle is comfortable. I like the fact that I can undo the handle and clasp it around a table leg or the leg of a bench in the park whilst I'm having a breather. The stretchy part is useful when the dog pulls as it absorbs some of the "tug" pressure. The only problem is that the stretchy part is quite heavy, so the lead droops and catches under the dog's legs all the time. I'm forever bending over to untangle him. If you use a harness with the lead attached to a ring on your dog's back, rather than on a collar, you probably won't have this problem. Or if you have a bigger dog of course. Mine is roughly the size of a spaniel.
