Plush, high quality rug. Some colors are not what you’d expect
I got samples of almost all of the colors except for pink and lilac. I’m not sure why I ordered so many, but I’ve take the time to take pictures of and review all the ones I have. The following attributes apply to all of the colors. I’ve explained distinctions between each color in their own paragraphs; colors are in alphabetical order. This is long because I’m reviewing 15 colors. I dock 1 star for the variation in colors, especially since it’s not obvious in the stock photos what you’re actually getting. I hope that my review will help others decide what rug color best suits their needs. Smell: little to no off-gassing. Shagginess: This is a dense, very plush, shag rug. Pile is advertised as 2”, but it’s actually about 1.5” thick. The thinner strands tend to be 2”, but the thicker ones are 1.5”, and when measured with a ruler pushed into the rug, it hits 1.5”. Arrives somewhat flattened, but you can brush the fibers in the other direction with your hand or use a vacuum. The rug is comprised of a mix of thicker and thinner threads, which is more apparent in the colors that are a mixture, as explained below. Shed: Since I received cut samples of rug, I experienced lose strands coming off at the ends. The center of the rug samples were fine. Color: It is not obvious in the stock photos, but most of the rugs are a mix of light and dark strands, so they have a speckled or tweed look. For some, the difference between the two mixed colors is pulled off well. For others…well, you’ll see in the photos. As I said in my summary, I dock 1 star for the variation in colors/mixes, especially since it’s not obvious in the stock photos. The lighter colors get dirty (obviously). See side by side photos of a brand new rug and one about a month old. Would recommend buying scotch guard or some other carper protector. Backing & slip: The backing is made of jute and some tightly woven white thread. Very little debris came off. It is *not* non-slip, so an anti-slip pad would be needed for hardwood floors. Negative: The only downside of these rugs is that the strands feel as though they have some kind of coating on them, which leaves a filmy feeling on your hands if you run your fingers over the tempting plushness of the rug. But this is not enough to knock it down a star. Individual colors: - Beige: As you can see in my pictures, this is not a solid color, but a mix of shiny thinner white and thicker beige strands. The color difference is more obvious than in my photos, but I think it’s OK, not great. Under certain lights, the white strands make the rug look like it has a sheen rather than two different colors. The thinner strands are longer by about 0.5 CM. Could have looked better with less contrast between the mixed colors (or shorter lighter strands). - Black: It is not pure black, but slightly marled/speckled with silver or shiny grey, which in my opinion makes it look more sophisticated and visually appealing. The thicker strands are pure black, while the thinner strands are black mixed with a shiny dark grey. Like the beige rug, the lighter strands make the black rug shimmer. One of my favorite rug colors. - Brown: This is a mix of mixes and looks much better than the photos. The thinner strands are a mix of shiny bronze and dark chocolate brown, and the thicker strands are mix of a matte coppery brown and tan+dark brown, giving it an overall balanced tweed look. The subtle metallics are a very nice touch and gives a slight sheen. Compared to “mushroom,” which is lighter and less saturated, this looks much better. Richly colored. - Dark Grey: This is another mix rug. After very close inspection, I believe both thick and thin strands are a mix of *slightly* different shades of grey. The difference is very, very subtle, but gives enough visual interest than an otherwise solidly colored rug would. I really like this rug color. - Green: This is another mix rug. It makes me think of spring or the fake grass used in easter baskets. The thinner strands are a mix of slightly different shades of green, what I would call a soft, almost pastel green. The thicker strands are very very light, whitish green. This rug is much more shinier than in my photo. The difference between the light and dark strands is very apparent; I feel less contrast would have looked better. - Ivory: This is a solid ivory color, no mixed color strands here. Gets dirty easily. Would recommend buying scotch guard or some other carper protector. Nice ivory color. - Light blue: The color is true to the picture. It looks slightly more turquoise than light blue. Although my photo seems to show two slightly different colored strands, it is a solid color, with no sheen. The thinner strands are longer by about 0.5 CM. Overall rather dull looking. Some shiny threads and/or a subtle mix of color would have improved it greatly. - Maroon: The rug looks a little different than the stock photos. The photos seem slightly more rust red, whereas in person the rug has a slightly more maroon hue. Both thick and thin strands are mixed with lighter and darker threads (although the thinner strands have a greater dark:light ratio), giving it an overall balanced tweed look. Vibrant, well saturated color. Very beautiful. - Mushroom: True to its name, this rug looks like the colors of a Portobello mushroom. The thinner strands are a shiny, dark beige (like the fleshy part of a Portobello), and the thicker strands are a mix of two shades of dark khaki/beige (like the underside of a Portobello). The thinner strands are longer by about 0.5 CM.The difference between the light and dark strands is very apparent; I feel less contrast would have looked better. lt might look okay in a child’s playroom. - Navy: I was rooting for you, navy—we were all rooting for you! Yes, I really wanted to like this rug, as blue is my favorite color. This had potential, but missed the mark by far. The stock photos made me think this was a solid, deep navy blue. It is yet another mix of mixes: thinner strands of shiny silver blue + dark blue and thicker strands of matte navy blue + cobalt blue. The darker blues are richly colored. The thinner strands are longer by about 0.5 CM. I think the two colors would have looked lovely as two different rugs: together they look more like an Impressionist painting of a turbulent ocean (which may be what you’re going for). Or the thinner strands should have been the same length as the thicker, or even shorter, so they peak out just a bit. The mix was a nice idea, but unbalanced enough to make me not like it. - Purple This rug is darker than the stock photos, more like plum. This is a very subtle blend of thinner strands of shiny+matte plum and thicker, all-matte strands. I believe the matte is slightly darker, but it could be the lack of sheen making it appear dark. It’s a very rich, well saturated plum, and the sheen makes it visually appealing. - Red The color is true to the picture. If you look closely, the stock photos show a blend of reds: thin, slightly shiny, bright red strands and thicker, matte, darker red strands. The difference is very, very subtle, but gives enough visual interest than an otherwise solidly colored rug would. - Silver: This is another mix rug. This is lighter than the dark grey. Thinner strands are a mix of light grey/silver and dark grey fibers, thicker strands are all light grey/silver. The difference is subtle and the colors mix very well in my opinion, like granite or some other stone. - Taupe: The thinner strands are a mix of a shiny dark beige (same as Mushroom) and a matte beige. The thicker strands are a dull taupe. The thinner strands are longer by about 0.5 CM. The difference is subtle and the colors mix very well in my opinion. However, compared to the other colors, taupe is really quite dull. I hate to say, but it looks like a dirty old rug. Would work well in a place where it would accumulate (and hide) lots of dirt. - White: This is not a pure white, but

Amazing
If you want thick pile and plush under your feet then this is it. I am so relieved. I opened it and put it out and was instantly in love. It's thick and not cheap at all. I got dark grey and the color is so rare. I wanted almost black but not black enough to see all the lint. It is just awesome. And because I have been area rug shopping at furniture stores also I know this is decently priced for quality. Cheaper than the ones in the stores I seen and same quality.

Not a Match
Carpet was nice but I was looking for a white shade like cream or off-white. This was more beige so it clashed with my decor. Purchased two of these. One was never received (I think they delivered to the wrong unit/building). Anyway, I was able to return the one and get a refund for both which was good.

Very nice quality
I bought a silver coloured shag rug and the colour is very nice. The texture of the rug is nice and thick and plush. Very soft on the feet and a nice long shag. The rug even improved in texture after a couple of vacuums due to the loosening up of the fibers. Love this rug and would 100% buy another!

Just What I Was Looking For
Was worried about too much yellow in the ivory colour (hard to tell from photos), but is a nice creamy ivory. Solid rug. Nice feel. Brightened up my living room. You'll need an undermat if not placing furniture feet on the rug to stop it from sliding on the hardwood.
