if you live alone or just need an extra reason to feel safe do it. it’s not impossible to break in if this thing is on your door but it will definitely give you time to call police and get a weapon/somewhere safe by the time someone gets in. Every second is crucial in home defense and this slows them down.

It Works

Fortunately, it hasn't been tested against a robber BUT it has been tested by me. One day I left the house from the backdoor, leaving down the driveway I realized I'd forgotten my sunglasses, so I tried to re-enter the house from the front door (that's where we keep the securityman bar) and it stopped the door from moving very far. I didn't try to push it too hard, but it felt very sturdy and if nothing else it would definitely buy you time. Look, if someone is bold enough to break into your home this isn't going to stop them, but it will slow them down.

The boot the pole fits into is also very loose. So I wrapped tape around the pole to tighten it up.

Good security device

Bought this for my new home as the front door isn't very sturdy. Very easy to assemble and use. I place it under the door knob every evening as soon as I come home. Gives a better sense of security

Works well!

I have installed this on the hinged door to my apartment and tried to open it and the door wouldn't budge! It was super easy to install and works great.

Sturdy, light, useful for travelling

I bought two of these for a recent trip and used one on the room door handle and the other in the sliding door track. I felt perfectly safe. The sliding door was much wider than usual, so this item wasn't long enough but I used a stick to complete the distance. It's great to have removable rubber ends depending on where you'd like to use them (door handle or sliding door track).

I find it a bit flimsy on regular doors although it does add some layer of protection since a great deal of force is needed to knock it out of the way. It works awesome on sliding doors making them impossible to open while in place
