makes food contact with Grill marks
The media could not be loaded. Upon unboxing, I took out the press and immediately washed it in warm water with soap, then set it inside my grill and turned up the heat. This will dry in less than 5 minutes. As an avid backyard BBQ griller and recent griddle owner, I am enjoying using this cast iron grill press. The dimensions are slightly under 9 inches by 4 inches with a white wooden handle that did change color on me because I placed in a grill instead of on a burner during staining. Great grill press
This grill press has greatly improved my end results on cooking a variety of food and meats. It's a heavy-duty cast iron press and firmly holds down the food while it cooks. The press keeps even heat and pressure, and causes a nice crust to form. I've used it on a variety of different recipes...burgers, steaks, chicken thighs (yum!), and even veggies. I also love to use it to make grilled cheese sandwiches and restaurant quality quesadillas. I keep it nearby my stove at all times and clean up on it is a breeze. One thing I have noticed is that my meat tends to be more evenly cooked and it actually cooks a bit faster when I use the press.

Very well made good cast iron.
I seasoned it 3 times to make sure it’s seasoned well and I use it for grilled steaks on the grill and it helps to ensure even heat on my steaks and the weight is perfect.

Better than my burger shaper
The media could not be loaded. I thought my burner shaper was the best tool for burger making but I was wrong. This burger press is much better. I can simply divide a 1 pound block of ground beef into four segments and use this press to form a patty. It also works great while frying the burgers to keep the patties flat, which has been an issue for me as they sometimes try to ball up during the frying process. The result was evenly thick borders with nice grill lines. I used this along with the burger shaper but I really didnt need it, so that is one less thing in my kitchen.
