Decent Option for the Cost

I was able to use it for installing dowels into a woodworking project, but my main complaint is the acrylic flap that you use to clamp it to the side of your board is a little bit more flexible than I would like. You have to be careful while drilling or it will wander.

Very good but limited

This worked okay for dowels on the edges of boards, but has virtually no use for surface dowelling. You will need to clamp this device TIGHTLY to your board, since it has a tendency to want to move.

Great kit and well priced, but mine was missing the 1/4" drill bit

This kit has been great so far, and a pretty good value for the money. Fortunately, I don't yet have a use for the 1/4" doweling jig, because my kit is missing the 1/4" drill bit. So, minus one star for the missing bit. But that will be easy enough to replace if and when I need it.

Good for the money

This dowel jig definitely helped keep my boards in alignment when I was making a table top glue up. My only problem was the plexiglass part can flex so on a few spots the whole was out of alignment with the adjoining board. I moved the clamp closer to the black plastic part. Maybe it is a learning curve issue. There are more robust dowel jigs, but this will get you pretty far for $20.

Works Great

Used to make a rustic coffee table. Worked well. I used a basic grip clamp to hold it in place while drilling.

Gets the Job down

Just clamp this down when you are drilling dowels. You can get away will holding it but I prefer to be safer rather than sorry. Quick and easy to use.

This jig is very breakable. One slip onto a concrete floor and it's toast!

Was making a Murphy bed cabinet for a rockler kit. had a tough time aligning dowels with the milescraft doweling jig I had bought. Ended up buying this and was able to get all the dowels aligned on the first try. This worked great for the edge dowels. Ended up using the milescraft jig on the faces since this is very awkward to clamp on a larger board. overall, using this and the included bit for edges, and the milescraft and it's included bit for the faces makes doweling very easy and fast. I am an extreme novice when it comes to this stuff. I tried to build this cabinet with the least amount of tools possible.

Arrived not in original packaging

Mine arrived in a taped up plastic parts bag, with the drill bit (collar attached) jammed into one of the holes and missing the allan key. The collar scratched up the plastic, only cosmetic damage but still irritating. I had also ordered the 3/8" size and it arrived (separately) in proper packaging and with all parts in excellent condition - possibly different seller? Its going to work, and I have plenty of allan keys including the one that came with the other size but it was a bit disappointing after the good job done on the other size. Contrary to some other reviews I find the fit of bit to guide is very good, just enough play to ensure no binding of the bit. Test joints work well. Not the best jig I've ever used but by no means the worst. Lower rating is purely for the bad packaging and the cosmetic damage it caused (suspect it was a returned unit sent out as new)

Works well

I'm not an experienced woodworker. And I've started using this guide on a project with maple... quite hard. I still managed to drill my holes, but the jig does need some practice. Sometimes, the drill jams. But it's not the tool. The tool is sturdy and well made.

Can't recommend. Holes not aligned!

Can you believe selling a drilling jig that don't have the holes aligned properly? Might as well save your money and drill without a tool if the result is unaligned holes!!!

La verdad las plantitas está muy bien fabricadas.. es metal con acrílico de muy buen espeso..los topes tienen un sistema de ajuste diferente a los normales. Muy precisa al realizar los ensambles.

Accuracy and value get 1 star because I can not go to negative stars

Once the holes are drilled, they are offline by 1/64. I just bought an $80 paperweight. In case you are wondering the center line on the jig was perfectly aligned on my scribe line on the test pieces.
