The handle is gigantic
Needed a new one. OXO is good stuff, but this is huge. Maybe best for giant pots but I never need that much for regular dinners. The jangle is gigantic and takes up a lot of your veggie real estate. The feet are very tall too so you lose even more real estate for steamin’

Dumped the broccoli and burned my hand the first use.
Still trying to figure out if I like this or not. It fits most pans just fine, but isn’t very user friendly.

Was great, until it wasn't...
Bought this in 2021, and have used it less than 10 times, may even be less than 5 times. Today, one of the feet and the piece that attaches the foot to the base of the steamer just came off. Really disappointed in this OXO product, as the company has never failed me before.

Critical Review
Best fit for this product is for larger families and serving four or more people. With a 7-inch diameter, the steamer basket doesn't fit into small or medium size sauce pans. Our work around is to use a 10-inch x 3-inch deep brasir skillet, but requires a dome shape lit (a flat lid has interference from the basket lifting handle. From an old EKCO steamer basket; has a 5-1/2 inch diameter & fits all small or medium size sauce pans ... no giant skillet required. Cheers, FanBelt32

Great product, please make handle more sturdy
I've purchased this streamer tray twice now because it feels much more sturdy than any other collapsible steamer trays out there. The telescoping handle is really cool but my first one fell off, thus the second purchase. Fix that OXO and it would be the best

Nice steamer, better than expected.
Very nice steamer basket! It is a little bigger than I expected and larger than my old one that it is replacing, as you can see in the picture I posted. The old one lasted me over 30 years, so I expect the new one to pretty much last the rest of my life. What I really like about it are the longer feet which allow me to put more water in the pot which puts my mind at ease that the pot will not boil dry if I walk away for a few minutes, and yes, that has happened in the past with the old one. The extendable centre handle is very nice and makes it very easy to remove when it is hot, it is also easy to remove if you need to use all the space, but as I usually only cook for myself or two people at most, I doubt I will need to remove it often. I have used it a few times since getting it, mostly for vegetables and to steam hotdogs, and have found it very easy to clean afterwards. I haven't noticed that the edges are any more dangerous than they were on my old one, and I cannot see anyone who is familiar with this type of steamer having any risk of cutting themselves as they should be used to handling them. Overall, it is a great steamer basket for the price. You could probably find a cheaper one, but I doubt you could find a better one. The extendable feet are the main thing that put it over the top for me, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Good replacement steamer
My last steamer having died after several years, I decided to go for an OXO one, mostly because the other products I've bought from OXO have been good. This seems equally well made. It's easier to lift veg out of a steaming pan than my old one without getting your fingers scalded. I also like that it doesn't open out fully flat, so the veg are less likely to fall off the steamer when you are doing this....

Sturdy but a bit bulky
The handle feature is very good, but it takes a bit more space in the pot than I would like. It also means it takes more space in the dishwasher. I think a simple metal ring would do just as well, although the fork-sized plastic handle is more stable. However, the whole thing is well made, sturdy and the adjustable 'legs' are a good plus. Definitely a good buy.
