Comfortable every day shoe for “work casual”

My son says these boots are very comfortable. They come with a removable, very cushioned footbed. I agreed to purchase them only because they were on sale. The product description and box state they are made partly of leather, but I’m not sure—the shoe actually appears to be made of some sort of textile, not leather. One BIG thing to note (and I mean BIG): these shoes have an EXTREMELY strong chemical odor right out of the box. Maybe it’s the “stain & water” repellant treatment the tags boasted about. It is SO bad, I almost considered returning them. But my son really needed something and he does like the shoe. So I have been putting them out on my terrace every single day for a week and the smell is just starting to dissipate. I’m expecting to do that for another week or however long it takes for them to off-gas. Keep that in mind if you choose to order!

Comfortable and good looking

They are real light and have a cushy feel. I have wide feet but still needed the next size up even with a wide width option. I would recommend them.

Not wide

These boots are narrower than my regular width sneakers. The manufacturers should try using human feet as models. There's no arch support and they also came scuffed.

Not leather uppers. Not made in the US.

These were a profound disappointment. I had assumed the made in USA was not accurate based on the $80 price point. The construction claims the upper is as leather and man made. This is barely the truth. The only part I can determine was actually leather was the inner strip reinforcing the lace holes. The remaining upper was all vinyl fabric backed cloth. Completely useless as working pair of boots. Returned.

Bigger than expected

I am a 8.5 but wear 9 due to uneven foot size so I bought this in size 9 x-wide and they fitted at least 1 each bigger. I can tolerate them about 3 hours after that they become uncomfortable and upsetting to wear. My advise is go with your true size and don’t go bigger. Also, they almost look and feel like if you were wearing boots.

Horrific odor!

They were actually quite comfortable but the toxic odor out of the box (ie. toxic shoe odor) was too much to tolerate.
