nice tool with smaller limitation

it is a very nice and useful tool, if the wood is longer. This tool won't help much if you have to mark center line on a smaller length pieces... (probably should have width adjustable legs so that it can fit on any smaller length wood pieces...) but it is doing its job as advertised only limitation is with smaller pieces whose length is shorter than the gap between the two legs of the tool.

Just not really well thought out

Most glaring issue is the pencil "that came with it" doesn't fit in the hole to make your markings. Secondly. you can't center up any piece wider than a 1 x 3, 2 x 3" etc. What I did to make a pencil fit is find a drill bit that has a shaft that is the same diameter of the pencil and drill out the opening for the pencil. (Only the top half not the pointed section). I used a 19/64" bit which was the closest I had to the pencil diameter. Caution! Place drill bit in hole before starting drill and put drill on lower settings because it will rip the thing right out of your hand. Slowly spin drill to remove enough material until pencil point fits through small hole underneath. A quality tool would not need this modification to work.

Center Finder saves so much time

Great product, wish I had it sooner. So much easier to use than tape measures & straight edges.

Pencil doesn't fit

It looks like a good and useful tool. My only complaint is that the supplied pencil only goes in halfway. Not far enough to mark with. I've tried other pencils with the same result.

Straight center line

The media could not be loaded. I have nothing to dislike so far. The tool is beneficial for lot of projects I consider working on and doing, the revealing notches are great for my moulding around windows and doors or sizing a board. Quick saw table adjustment also. Two sides of different revealing measurements which I like too. Like the fact that it holds the pencil tight in place and you can adjust the tip for better accuracy. Magnetic also so I don't loose it, I can attach it my work area.

Marked the centerline of the boards

Easy to use and worked well. The pencil is a bit hard to put in place and replace when it is till to sharpen the pencil.

Good Idea But Needs Improvement

The concept is clever and useful. There are some design flaws however that need to be addressed. Foremost is the opening to install the marking pencil. Even the included pencil is to large for the opening. The second flaw is the total width. If it were made just a little wider, one could also use it for marking the center of a 3 1/2" 2x4. As it is, it is only good for the narrow edge of a board. One other fact to be aware of is that it will not mark to the end of the board. As soon as one end of the center finder reaches the end of a board, it has no way to stay on center. That leaves a few inches at each end of the board unmarked. Also, it is only good for perfectly smooth boards. Any bumps, planer snipe, defects, etc., will move it off center.

Works as expected and no issues

So I received this centre finder today. It works well I’ve seen reviews posted about this being made of plastic and about how the pencil does not fit Well yes it’s made of plastic but it’s constructed well and will most likely out live me. As for the pencils not fitting. Yes it’s a tight fit but that’s what you want if it was loose the pencil would fall out or get pushed out when you went to draw a line. I had no issues getting the pencil that came with it to fit a number 2 pencil will also fit All and all I’m happy with the product and happy with the price worth the few $ I spent and I’m always happy with milescraft products

Desde que se abrió se usó, y cada vez lo uso mas...

Es un pequeño aliado en tu taller. Ok, seguramente dirán que tu puedes hacer uno a partir de un sobrante de madera y hasta con otras funciones, todo a partir de un video de Youtube. La verdad es que la presición de algo manufacturado por el precio que lo adquirí aquí en Amazon valió mucho la pena. El lápiz, algunos se quejan que no entra cómodamente, pero prefiero yo eso a que esté rodando por todos lados y luego ni lo pueda encontrar. La características de las muescas que vienen incluidas cada 1/16 de pulgada es una MARAVILLA! Hay otra versión con milimetros pero la que adquirí es en imperial y vaya que agiliza el trabajo. Es pequeño y compacto y cabe en mi cinturon sin problema. Como los productos de Milescraft, seguro durará mucho tiempo y no dudaría en volverlo a comprar en caso de perderlo o como un regalo práctico y económico para ese carpintero de closet que llevamos dentro. Works as it is designed

I guess it will work as it should if you have a suitable pencil that is very skinny. Why they include a pencil that can not be used with it is very odd. You pretty much need a pencil lead with no wood to fit into the opening in the device. UPDATE- After further use I found that the pencil does fit and this device does work quite well. The Pencil is a tight fit but needs to be to be accurate.

Tres mal conçu, le crayon est trop epais par rapport à l'endroit qu'il devrait être fixé pour tracer la ligne En plus la largeur n'est que 13 cm... Donc on peut pas l'utiliser pour une planche de 2x4...

Have to be very careful

Depending on the diameter of the pencil the lead of the pencil can be off centre so you have to measure and get it exact all the way along the edge. No good really.
