Set it once and forget it!
I picked up two of these to set our porch and garage lights as well as our back patio overhead lights to turn on automatically when the sun goes down and off in the morning. This does require 3 wires to work at all so you have to have a supply wire to the fixture. Programming takes a little bit of time but follow the instructions and get your coordinates from their website ahead of time. Don't forget to go back into the menu after you set the coordinates to turn it on at sundown and off at sunup which is a step I messed up. After I did that it works perfectly and turns on just after sundown and off just after sunup. I'd buy again if needed.

The product works great.
I like the fact that we no longer need to adjust the timer to stay current with the changing sunrise/sunset times, as we had to do with our non-astronomical timer. We use this timer to control parking lot and walkway lighting at a hotel. The only disappointment was with Amazon Prime, which stated next day delivery ... well, up until I purchased the timer, then it switched to 3 day delivery.

Programming
Takes some time and a bit confusing on the programming. If doing Astronomical setting you need to go into events to select Sunup and Sunset.

Nice switch.
Programming is difficult but this seems to be a common problem with these switch timers. Installing is typical but you end up with additional wiring in a tight location. I recommend the switch but it’s not a easy change out.

Feature-rich lamp timer
Lots of features on this unit. Exactly what I needed. Hints/notes: -Requires neutral & ground wires, and optional Yellow wire is hot, keep it capped if not used ! -Operating instructions could be a bit better; example: little mention of how to make adjust times after initial on/off time settings. Selecting of numerical on/off times versus a dusk or dawn triggers is a bit ambiguous. - Use "Pro" mode to unlock all the great features -May not fit easily in smaller electrical boxes. -Override switch is a bit firm and slightly hard to pinpoint in the dark. -Good LCD display

Works great but doesn't last.
The media could not be loaded. This would be a 5 star product if it didn't have issues with longevity. I have 4 of these running all the outdoor lights at my house. They work great, until they don't. I've had two of them die this year. One just randomly stopped working, with a dead screen, so I replaced it. Now I have one that didn't recover from yesterday's power outage. It just keeps flashing. No combination of button presses for any amount of time can reset it. So the bottom line is: don't expect it to last.

Accurately Turns Exterior Lights On and Off at Dusk and Dawn Based On Your Geographical Location
No need to wire-in an electronic photocell sensor into your system to control your exterior lights from dusk to dawn. This switch incorporates a highly accurate programable astrological clock which amazingly rivals that (within 30 minutes) of a photocell. The only downside is that the programming has a bit of a learning curve, but once you set it, given it's battery back-up, you can forever forget it. One very important note however, this unit requires a 'neutral' line inside your switch box. I note this because most light switches were/are wired in a simple "switch loop" configuration, and did not require a "neutral" line inside the box.

Neat technology
I was looking for a better lighting control for my outside house/garage lights. I prefer to leave lights on overnight. Was using photocells but don't like that the on/off parameters are not very efficient (overcast sky makes it worse) Why are photocells built with different on/off lux values eg: on @ 30, off @ 60? Spotted these astronomical timers recently. Looked interesting so purchased 1(Walmart). Installed for front and back door lights. Liked it enough that I purchased 2nd switch(Amazon) for garage eave lighting. The sunrise/sunset feature is good. "But", the offset is not in any way efficient. A +5min offset adds time to both eg: sunset @ 16:00 = 16:05, sunrise @ 07:00 = 07:05 A - 5min offset subtracts time to both eg: sunset @ 16:00 = 15:55, sunrise @ 07:00 = 06:55. If you Google sunset/sunrise for your area you will notice in most cases it is not dark. The ability to add + offset to sunset and - offset to sunrise would save on energy consumption. 15 min per day = 91.25 hrs per year. So yes, lights on unnecessarily can add up. My 6 lights only consume 55w, but if you are at 150w and up that can be a considerable saving. This is a very multi purpose switch. I have 1 switch for 2 led lights @ 22w total and it works fine. It is rated for 1 HP motor so this would work for a block heater as well. FYI For the sundown/sunup feature to work you must create 1 event. Programming is challenging. If using pro mode for sunset/sunrise, follow steps for: "Programming your timer options" a). @ b) setting on/off events You must create 1 event. Pick days of the week - enter, Turn on time, pick sundown - enter Turn off time, pick sunup - enter Then hit "override" button and you should be set to go.

Works Great
Has all the programming features to suit my needs. Very versatile. Installation was simple & straightforward. Programming in pro mode was a little bit of a challenge for me but thanks to the numerous videos available online, I was able to set it up exactly how I wanted. The backlit display assists greatly while programming. I've only had it running for a few days now so can't comment on its ability to retain program memory. I'm trusting the brand name Leviton to give me years of trouble free performance.

Works Perfectly - Instructions could be a little better.,
Needed a switch that would turn on and off my outdoor low-voltage LED lighting based upon year-round sunrises and sunsets and this works very well. The LCD display is tiny, but still readable if you get up close. To access the sunrise-sunset function you also need to be in 'Pro' mode. If doing sunrise-sunset, also be sure to set up your sunrise-sunset scheme as an 'event' - the first event - or you'll be scratching your head as to why it isn't working. You also go to the manufacturer's website for longitude-latitude info, but you can't enter the number in decimals - for me it still placed the settings to within 50 miles of my house, so definitely good enough. Overfall, the instructions could be a little clearer on setting up sunrise-sunset. Btw, to control low-voltage lighting, this is a 110v switch and it must connect to a low-voltage transformer first which then to the lighting.

Programmable start time, duration and automatic adjustment for daylight hours
Use it to turn on light in the morning from dawn to daylight and at night from dusk to sleeping time. Automatically adjusts to daylight based on your geographic location. Easy to install. Takes a little time to get used the programing but once set there is no need to touch it. Never had to turn on light manually since installing it. No need for photocell.
