Good Color Differentation
Used this to test PH of my marine aquarium. The color difference between various PH levels is quite good except for the difference between 8.2 and 8.4 which is only a slight shade difference of the same color. However, since anywhere between 8.2 and 8.4 is pretty much where you want your marine aquarium to be this shortcoming is of no real consequence.

Popular and reliable testing solution.
This test is somewhat difficult but the pH is so important in my fish tank that I am willing to do it. My water, even with partial RO water is very high ,living in Arizona. My betta has adapted to it and does fine on 8.0 but I test every day as it can ride quickly and that's useing all the helps like driftwood almond leaves and a coconut shell hut. So I am happy to have this test available.

Works fairly well
It’s kinda hard to tell for sure what exactly your pH is. I keep getting a color in between 8.0 and 8.2 so I just assume it’s 8.1 Otherwise it’s great and doesn’t deserve much hate

A reliable brand
I have been using API test kits for over 14 years and have always found them to be quick, easy, reliable, and reasonably priced. If you're just starting out with a pond or aquarium then you might consider buying the API Master Test Kit - it's an all-in-one kit which is cheaper than buying the bottles individually. However, you'll find that over time you'll use more of some tests than others so it's convenient to be able to purchase the singles like this as well.

DOES NOT WORK!! PLEASE READ!
I thought this product was a really good product, accurate in description and that if this product says my fish tank water is fine- then it is. However, after using this product since ive had my aquarium, my fish started developing a sickness, as well as ick and looks pretty 'worse for wear' at the moment, although each time water has been removed and replaced and checked with the API kit it has always shown a PH of 7.5 (very light golden colour), even though the water has been murky looking. So after several weeks and many water tests, i decided to do another check, this time with a) tap water, B) hot water (which contains more chemicals!, C.) aquarium water that was treated as well as D) mixing it with a small amount of vinegar and guess what???....... ALL RESULTS STAYED THE SAME ! EVEN WITH VINEGAR!! so no, i dont recommend this product at all and now have to wearily buy another Nitrate testing kit because this is in fact FAKE! will contact amazon to inform after this review is put in as they sell it, but do not produce it! i'm disgusted to be honest. I now have a sick fish and all along the 'test kit' doesnt work giving me no proper reading whatsoever! AVOID!
