Shiny, shiny...

Almost too shiny. I wish they came in cast stainless... but all of the "not gold" options are crappy cast zinc with some sort of sketchy coating. This is a solid piece. It's all brass. It weighs a ton. It's shiny. Did I mention how shiny it is? (my other half hates shiny things). I may wet sand it to take the edge off. But it's very well made. No complaints there.

The lock turns better and clicks into the lock position

I was looking for a solid brass sash lock for 37 windows in a new house, and purchased one each of the Ives by Schlage 07MB3 Window Lock and the Baldwin 9BR7014-004 Sash Lock. Both are high quality, but there are differences: Ives by Schlage 07MB3 Window Lock: Made in India, slightly lighter casting than the Baldwin but still plenty of heft. The casting has crisper lines than the Baldwin. The lock turns better and clicks into the lock position. My preference. Baldwin 9BR7014-004 Sash Lock: Made in China. The lock is stiffer, and the casting is a bit cruder than the Ives. Still better than the cheap zinc castings with brass plating.

seems lighter unsure of alloy now made in India not exact dimensions as Ives originals.

Solid but weak looking constructuon

Yes appears to be solid brass but no escaping 3rd world construction in the mechanism.
