Value and power, winning combination!
After careful consideration of many 6" fans, I chose this one based on the price point and power (442 CFM) for my 4' x 8' x 7' grow tent. The packaging was secure and it arrived on time. This fan is a BEAST with power and I've had to put it on an adjustable knob to lower the exhaust power and drastically reduce the sound. In my tent I have this set to ~30% on the dial I installed and it can quickly affect the environment as needed :) Great purchase! Overall it's a definite recommendation from me.

Works like a charm
You may need to use aluminum foil tape around the center seam. Mine leaked quite a bit until I sealed it up. Works great now!!

It's a beast
I seriously don't doubt the CFM ratings for this whatsoever. It's a bit loud on high, but this is easy to fix (it's completely dependent on the ducting. No sound comes through the casing. And it's definitely a solid machine. YES it leaks a bit of air around the sheet metal connection between the front and the back, but it's pretty sturdy (and heavy). TBH though, I'm amazed my unit still works and barely any vibration... I've dropped it or it came loose and fell 5 feet and rolled another 3 feet more than once. Mine is 6" and is just awkward to hold and mount. And I put a single layer of gorilla tape or clear duct tape (not packing tape!) Around the 2 flanges. As they're only about an inch long.but semi rigid aluminum tube stays fine with a clamp. And definitely don't use anything less smooth like flexible ducting tube on the intake (see below). 12" and the blower sounded like it was really going, but it was barely moving 1/3 of what it's rated... The mount is nothing to write home about and it's good enough to mount on bungee cords hanging from a 12" L-Bracket right to a stud (it definitely vibrates on different speeds. (Get a $5 controller from Amazon. My first one wouldn't get hot running a shop vac and the second was a 4-pack for $11). And don't go below 1/2 speed (by airflow). BTW I did my research on this type of blower and you're not supposed to slow it down with basically a glorified light dimmer, but the intake restriction is how you would tweak the volume under varying loads, etc. If you block the output, it will ramp up the power to try and compensate... But very slight changes to the input really change the output while it remains at more or less constant speed. So put a grille obviously and you want something for a muffler (1 or 2 sizes larger tubing with coarse wire mesh in the correct diameter and polyester pillow fill between the rigid outside and the mesh tube, so I did 7" with a 1/2" mesh and 10 or 12" (or 2 home depot buckets long, but one might do it. Look at commercial duct silencers online for restaurants, etc and you'll get an idea what's needed physically for components. HTH

Strong fan but no way to vary the speed
I got this to replace and underpowered kitchen stove exhaust fan. This certainly has the power and sucks the fumes, steam etc. up out of the cooking area. The only problem is that it is a capacitor start motor and I can find no way to vary the speed. Therefore, it always runs full speed. Mine is mounted outside of the house 10 feet from the stove hood, but is still quite noisy when running which you wouldn't mind if you have a lot of smoke or fumes to suck out in a hurry but my wife would like to have a couple of speeds so you don't have to try to talk over the noise if someone else is in the kitchen while you are using it.

You may need clamping bands & possibly putty
Brand new, it sounded quite loud during the 30-minute break-in cycle recommended by the MFG (but it was sitting loose on our kitchen floor! Noise was expected.) - once installed it was only a bit louder than the lesser powered fan it replaced, and we have to listen for it in the living room to be sure it is running. In neither instance did I detect any vibration. The user guide was well written with only a few evidences that it was not written in the USA. The instructions for disassembly for periodic cleaning were easily understood and it would seem the process will be simple. All in all I would buy the product again. However, one should pay attention to the over-all size. Sorry, I failed to record the dimensions, but the picture is a pretty good indication (the “mouth” is 6”). I would have liked the ducts to be a bit longer, as the mating duct was plastic pipe instead of sheet metal - but that's why duct (or "Duck") tape was invented, eh? However, the users guide recommends against using anything with adhesive. None the less, the tape I used doesn't seem to be causing any problems. Caveat: the instillation instructions mention the use of clamps for mounting, but such are not included. If you are going to install this into sheet metal ducts be sure you have clamping bands, and maybe a sealing compound as well. The materials of which this unit is made would not take kindly to trying to fasten with sheet metal screws and the smooth surface would not mesh with the corrugations at the end of a sheet metal duct. I recommend the non-hardening putty used by RV manufactures to seal openings.

Incredibly nice fan
This is an incredibly nice fan for a 6". Used with a speed adjuster (I purchased an Active Air ACSC Duct Fan Speed Adjuster) you can make it as quiet or as effective as you need. If you do turn down the speed, you can expect it to start up very slowly, since it is a centrifugal fan. For that reason I'd recommend never giving it less then half power/speed when using an adjuster with it. If you want to quiet it down further, you can either get a leather jacket for it (some models are sold with them), or make one yourself. Bear in mind it will raise the temp of the fan when using as hot air exhaust, if you do use a jacket. It is a little larger than I expected, but that's just my inexperience with this level of hardware. With a setting of halfway it moves more air than I need, and is little more than a hum in the background. It heats up during use since I have it as a hot air exhaust fan, but it's construction lends itself well to this purpose. It can take quite a bit of heat and keep spinning happily. It stabilizes and makes less low end noise when it is running at top speed, but more general noise as you'd expect. Overall very happy with the fan and would recommend it for any use.

It works!
I needed a powerful inline fan to blow smoke out a 6" duct for special effects on a Mutant Vehicle. I mounted the fan horizontally with an 8" long intake set at 90 deg and an exhaust duct 6' long. When running, the fan has no trouble at all in blasting out a column of smoke 10- 15 high. The fan body is made with heavy gauge stamped steel; the fan blades are made of some species of plastic and are well protected within the body. It is hefty but solid with this construction. I dropped it in error, but no damage occurred. Running at full speed the fan sound is not excessive and there are no vibrations. It arrived within a few days of ordering, well packaged and padded precluding damage en route.. In sum, this item is a good value for the money and performs as advertised.

There are better options but they $$$. Spend the $$$.
Do not pair this with the following fan speed controller https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01MXQG4UZ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If you do you will find that you have very little flexibility in controlling speed, limited to high and very high. Low and mid barely move the fan blades. I bought this for the garage and didn't want to spend $300 like I did on the Vortex # VTX600 in the house. Glad it's in the garage because it is MUCH noisier than the Vortex, which is made of much heavier steel. Item does not play nice with any speed controllers according to my research.

The customer service is terrible an not worth the money
This product was the first thing I have purchased from them an will also be the last. The fan comes with no mounting brackets an customer service hung up on me when I said I want to return it an a 6" charcoal filter also from IPOWER. DON'T BUY HORRIBLE PRODUCTS AN POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've had good luck with vivosun should not have wasted my time and money with IPower.

Crap
Changed my review this product is LOUD so loud I can’t sleep. I have a can fan that’s super quiet but this which pretty much looks identical is terrible. I would not buy this fan again or recommend it to anyone.
