I adore these cool, trim-looking shirts

I adore these cool, trim-looking shirts. I own at least seven and am rarely out of them in the summer. I've even slept in them on train trips and when camping. The black is a dark, saturated color -- subtle and flattering. Here are a few notes or quibbles about these buttery, light-as-air shirts. *I wish the brand tag wasn't so obtrusive, or better yet, not visible. I feel the tag stands out the worst against these black shirts. If this top wasn't branded, I would also make them my office uniform in a heart beat. As is, I sometimes wear under cardigans, but the sweater has to be heavy enough that the tag on front doesn't show through. I've toyed with the idea of removing it using a seam ripper, but haven't been brave enough (or found a cheap enough shirt) to risk trying it yet. I'm not sure the fine (though durable) material would withstand the removal without showing holes/pricks. *I adore the snap buttons. The fact that they match the shirt is part of what makes the shirt so trim/streamlined IMO. I wish that I had discovered these shirts (assuming they existed then) when I was nursing my kids. However, I would caution those purchasing for this use that the snaps come open VERY easily. Handy when sporting an infant in one arm and un-buttoning with another, but probably not ideal when nursing older babies or toddlers who like to tug clothing while they sup. A firm grab in the right spot can tear the shirt right open. However, if paired with enough confidence or a nursing cami, these would be a great toddler/older baby nursing option as well. *I wish that the length was longer, verging into CYA territory. Please, please, please. I in insist that my front and rear are comfortably covered when wearing with leggings/athletic tights, so making these shirts longer would allow me to wear them with all types of bottoms. *Strangely, I need a M in the sleeveless version and a L in the short and long-sleeved versions. No idea why, but I know it's not just me because I've seen other reviews reflecting this difference. I normally wear a M or S. *As a bonus, the back vent camouflages bra lines and bulges.

Wonderful material. No sweat

Wonderful material and so light! I needed this to work outside while still looking nice. Really keeps me from sweating too much and no sweat spots ! The buttons are snaps but they are very secure and looks great. The only drawback is that the material is so fine it can easily catch and pull threads. I love the sleeves that roll up and stay in place for a shorter sleeve option! The size was good— ordered larger than what I usually wear for a looser fit. I really want more of these shirts in my closet!

A little smaller than expected

This shirt in my opinion runs a little small and very fitted, so I'm returning the two I purchased for size up. I do like this shirt and it feels very lightweight and great for traveling or being out all day. Which is why I'm getting a larger size so I can move around without feeling the shirt is so fitted. I like the material and the features very much. If you like your shirts fitted and showing your curvy shape, then order your regular size, however if you like a good range of motion and comfort, then go a size up and it will still have a very good shape, just not so fitted.

Great quality

Nice fit. Excellent quality. Washed MANY times (usually wash cold regular cycle and hang dry since they dry so quickly). Own three colors (black, turquoise and lilac). Comfortable. Easy to wear. Love the zip pockets as secure place for cell phone or other items. Breathable. Very happy with purchase and would buy again.

Perfect summer shirt for the sun shy.

It's 96 degrees with 80 percent humidity. I'm protected from the sun and as cool as wearing a light tank top. I don't do well in the sun for even short periods of time. This shirt is great to throw on for walking the dog, or little outdoor things without worrying about applying sunscreen. (I also wear a sun hat.) It is great added protection with sunscreen for longer periods outside. The shirt is super comfortable and lightweight with great functionality and nicely feminine fit.

Almost a Great Shirt

This is a great shirt for hiking and traveling. The fitted style and soft, light fabric are wonderful. What keeps it from 5 star status are the truly stupid side pockets, with a white (no matter what the shirt color is) mesh lining running all the way to the opening. If the shirt is worn closed, no problem. But if it's worn open over a shell--a layering option I use very often--the mesh pockets show and flap around. Bad design. Otherwise, I love the shirt and have it in two colors.

Lightweight, great fit, at a fair price

Lightweight, fits great, has a flattering shape, at a fair price. It does show wrinkles a bit so that's the only reason it's a 4 not a 5. I bought another in white. I have broad shoulders and long arms so it's hard to find large shirts that have a flattering shape - most are boxy, but this one has a flattering shape.

Suits the purpose

This is a great lightweight "sport shirt", and great for travelling. The sizing fits somewhat smaller than other brands, but not any smaller than the usual Columbia sizing. I have several Columbia shirts in a size L, when I usually take medium in most everything else. I am a petite size 8 on top. This shirt is long but not overly so. The medium just barely buttoned across the chest, leaving inadequate room for movement, so I exchanged it for the large, which seems perfect for my purposes. Also too bad that the pocket linings are white, but not a deal breaker. It washes well, and easily. Great shirt.

Nice shirt

I really like the style and the fact that you can dress it up or down. BUT….I’m not sure why they put a Velcro pocket “closure” over the left breast….there’s no pocket. It’s totally unnecessary and cheapens the look of the shirt. Columbia could be a little more subtle with their logo as they are in many of their products
