I really like this hat!

Good quality fabric and well made, this hat is soft and not structured like a trucker hat. Due to chemo, my hair is super thin and this hat does not give me a headache like some hats do. I bought four, two in each color, so I have spares while my hair grows back.

Not really for men

I'm a man. Even though the product description for this cap says "for women and men," it is clearly intended for women. It even comes with a sticker on the bill of the cap that says, "women." By adjusting it to its maximum size, however, I was able to wear it comfortably. And there is nothing else inherently "girly" about it. I have several baseball/trucker/dad caps. Some of them, like this Gaiam, are mostly polyester. I find the all cotton ones much nicer-looking but this one is fine. With its wide brim and low crown, it seems much more of a "dad" cap than a baseball cap. It is a "snap-back" cap, which means that it is "one-size-fits-all." It has two fabric strips in the back and a metal buckle that can be tightened or loosened to easily adjust the cap's circumference. I have a pretty big head. I measured it at the hat line with a piece of cord at 23.5 inches. This cap worked fine for me but with very little overlap, perhaps a quarter of an inch. The cap is made up of six triangular fabric panels sewn together. The front two have no special stiffening like Adidas caps have to help the hat keep its shape. It has eyelet holes for ventilation. It was comfortable to wear on a hot day but secure. It is hand washable in cold water. It is made in China.

Lightweight

Gaiam outdoor performance hat is comfortable and lightweight. I wear hats outside all summer. A majority of baseball hats I wear are thicker and not moisture wicking like this hat is. This hat has a thin extra fabric lining where the material is in your forehead. Then the material that goes around the rest of your head that mostly touches your hair is just the material that is the same as the outside. It’s not double layered. So it’s very lightweight. I think it will be great in the summer to protect my head from the sun without making me hotter. The band around the inside is grey so that will hopefully help cover the sweat marks on it. My problem with the hat is that it looks a little odd when wearing it I think it’s because it doesn’t have a sturdy front in the forehead area. I’m pretty sure the white is also going to get dirty given how my other hats look after use.

Great for working out!

I had another Gaiam hat that I was obsessed with! I was excited to try another hat from this brand. This hat is perfect for working out, running errands, or for a bad hair day! It is breathable and fashionable. I sweat a lot, so a breathable hat is important. I usually wear it when I go walking. The only thing I didn’t like is that the part that goes around your head isn’t lined. I prefer when at least the front part is lined. It was still cute though. I just like the shape when it is lined. The price is great. The hat is high quality, and I have no complaints of the quality. I would recommend!

Womens

This is a woman's cap. It says men or women but I can assure you that it's not designed for a man. It's small and unstructured with a steel badge on the lower front corner. It doesn't look like the photo, It looks very much like a females hat and I couldn't even imagine a man wearing it. All that said, it's soft and nice I just happen to not be a woman.

Great for hot weather and sunny days...

My wife wears a baseball cap only when canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area to shield her head from the sun while paddling. Her favorite cap was a very light, almost sheer, nylon cap made by Under Armor which she would dip in the lake and place back on her head during hot days on the lake. The thin fabric made it comfortable in heat. She loved the hat, but last year she lost it. I got her this cap as a replacement. It's made of stretch nylon like the old one, and it's close to being as good. But it's made of a slightly heavier and thicker material than her old cap and is thus not as perfect in her eyes. Nevertheless, she is pleased to have it, thinks it will do for canoeing, and she likes the white color. It's a nice look in a well-made woman's cap.
