I LOVE these boots so much. I ordered a size 6, which I usually wouldn't, but size 5 is too small and can squeeze my toes and plus, these I could wear with thick socks. I wore them around to break them in, but I didn't even need to do that. I chose the all black boot, it has a slightly mesh design to the boot with some faux leather/pleather material around the ankle part of it and adds to the look. These are Lugz, I don't know if that matters to you or not, it doesn't to me. So I have tiny feet, I can fit into children's shoes, seriously, it's a problem looking for shoes for me. All the time. So I wore the boots out with both thin, ankle socks and a thicker pair of socks. With the thinner socks, the boot did not rub my skin or chafe it as some boots have done before. The thicker socks did make walking around as I didn't feel as if my foot was sliding, this was a slight case with the thinner socks, but not enough to hurt. I ran around and did some errands, literally did some exercises just to test it out. The boot is quite hard around where the toes are, it is not a steel toed boot, but it is hard enough that it should provide some protection if a heavy object (+10 lbs) falls on your feet, but I do not recommend testing this out, just my thoughts. The shoe's soles have a great grip. I used to run around in snow boots all the time and they were built to not slip, these boots feel the exact same way, so I happy with that. My family members cannot tell they are hiking boots. The boots are light, which, I don't know how to compare that to any other thing, so take that with a grain of salt. I also love that it adds an extra 2 inches to my height, it's a boot, it's thick on the bottom and the inside sole is also very soft and comfortable. Overall, I am pretty sure I am going to order another pair. I hate the way that other hiking boots look, I think they are aesthetically not pleasing, plus, all black shoes go with everything. I do appreciate that this boot comes in other colors too! Why can't other hiking boots come looking like this? My family thinks that this is not a real hiking boot, but from all my walking and testing, so far, it holds up. You want a couple of things in hiking boots, which is durability, ankle protection and sole grip, which this shoe checks all of those things for me. If I have to do another review because it failed me in some way, I will be back to write a review, however, I am super happy and in love. If you don't see another review then please take that as me being very pleased with my purchase.
