What you get.. The oximeter, 2 AAA alkaline batteries, a lanyard that attaches to the back of the oximeter, a felt bag to carry it in, and a manual. They do sell a version with an F at the end that stores a certain number of past readings, if that is something you like.. To me, it is completely useless and pointless. One thing that I question is how long the batteries will last.. The reason is, since every time you put your finger in it, it automatically turns on.. This means, it will have to have a sensor going 24/7 to keep checking for someones finger, which seems to me that it would slowly drain the battery over time. I am not counting this as a bad thing for 2 reasons.. First, if say you are a nurse and are using it 12 times a day going to peoples houses, this eliminates the hassle of having to turn it on for every single patient and time you use it, which could be a good thing. The second reason is because, since you can use rechargeable batteries in it with no problem, it will cost you next to nothing in batteries putting them in it, vs disposables. I have used some of these devices in the past that you have to play with the rechargeable batteries to get them to make a connection to use the device, if you chose to use them.. One nice thing about this one is that you can just put them in with no playing or messing around to get them to work.. This is good. One thing that is missing that some would consider bad, some would not care about.. Some that I have gotten in the past of other models had a silicone cover over the device to help protect it.. This one does not have one.. All personal preference here. With a simple click of the button, the screen will flip over from your view being upright, to someone you are facing being upright, and it being upside down for you.. This will make it easier to read if someone else is monitoring your readings for you. You can see an example of this if you look at the picture with the PI reading on it.. I have it flipped in that picture. If you hold the button down for a couple of seconds after you get your initial reading, you will get a screen that shows your PI rating.. I have never heard of anyone really using this reading, so for most people, this feature will be useless.. Comparing the readings with another brand that I know is fairly accurate, this one was very close to the same readings.. You can see it in the photo. Overall, all the things that I would have any complaints about are all based on personal preference, so there is no reason to deduct any stars for any of them.
