Wireless LED lights need improvements
These ceiling/wall lights are a bit larger than I expected for the number of LEDs they have. They give out good light as would be expected from LEDs. The housing takes up much of the size of the lights. The reason I purchased these lights was to provide lighting on my sailboat, which would save the sailboat's "house battery bank," which brings up my biggest dissapointment. Size may not be important for some. That said, I wanted to have one light in the Captain's stateroom, one light in the crews stateroom, and one light in the main salon Head (bathroom). Turns out that pushing any remote on/off switch controls "all" the lights that are present on the sailboat even if they are more than 30' from each other. So, if someone uses the head at night, it turns on the lights in each of the staterooms as well. There should be some way, aside from uninstalling batteries, to disable lights you don't want to turn on at times. So, I'm relegated to just using one of these lights on my sailboat, bummer. I suppose this challenge would be the same in a home with lights in different rooms, if those rooms are close together, such as a hall closet and a closet in a guest room. They both turn on with either on/off switch. So, if a guest is sleeping, with her closet door open, that light will shine in her face when someone else turns on the hall closet light. Bummer. Perhaps one upside is that you can place the remotes in different locations and control the light(s) at, say, entrances and exits, I suppose. Other than these issues, the lights give out good light, however, I'm not sure how long the batteries will last. In the final analysis, if you are just buying one light, or can keep them out of range of each other's remotes, than this would get 4 stars from me, as the size, due to the housing, is quite large. It would be great if there was some way to isolate the lights on the remote control switch. That would override my need for smaller lights and I would give 5 stars. Thanks, Captain Tony

MODIFICATION to make the light and switch work without constantly changing batteries
It works OK.... with power modifications. I bought this light and wireless wall switch for my RV. As others have shared, the unit EATS batteries (4-AA in the LIGHT) and (1-12V A23 in the wireless switch). Batteries in each lasted less than 2 days. UNSAT. Here's how I solved the problem: Ran a small gauge wire from my house battery (12V deep cycle) in the RV to the wall switch. Simply soldered the + and - leads to the wires at both ends of the battery tray in the wall switch. Now you have a LARGE 12V battery for your light switch. Then I purchased a DC-DC stepdown converter 12V to 6V (4-AA batteries, 1.5V each x 4 = 6V). Purchased on eBay for $2.80 w/FREE SHIPPING. Ran a second wire again my 12V house battery to the INPUT side of the converter (12V) and then a small gauge wire from the converter OUTPUT (6V) to the light which I mounted on the hallway ceiling in my RV. Again, solder the + and - negative leads to the input of where your 4-AA batteries are linked together. Problem solved! Less than an hour, and with minimal electrical experience, anyone with a soldering iron/solder should be able to make this MOD. Works like a champ...

Does the job.
Bought this to place above my parents shower as there is no light installed and the enclosed shower is dangerously dark. It is not as bright as I would like but I figured as much with the price and the number of batteries need to light the LED lights. It takes 4 AA batteries inside the light unit (not included) and a small AAA battery for the remote. The LED light are a bright blue tone and not soft and warm. It doesn't match with the lighting in the rest of the bathroom as I would have liked. But again I expected as much. It does the job and adds some lights to the shower without having to do electrical wiring and such. Hopefully the steam from the shower will not cause any damage to the lighting unit. I will update later once they have used it for a while and will update on how long the batteries actually last. ------------------------------update The unit has fallen off a few times and stopped working. We ended up doing it the correct way and had electrician put in a wired light. It probably would have worked well for a closet or somewhere with less moisture.

Not bad for the price
I purchased this light a few weeks ago..the first one came in dead on arrival..So i tried a second one..and it works great..The remote is built to take a 12v battery..something unusual and not usually seen too much in the electronics field..The good side of this light is that it is wireless and you can mount it pretty much anywhere within 20ft once you have some good strong velcro patches...The not so great side of this product is that it will require you to purchase more highhat lights for you to light up a 10x10 room..maybe 3 more..this light is good for maybe small boats with a cabin or possibly and regular standard size closet...overall i gave it three stars.. i think if they use a more powerful leds or mabe halogen..this light would be much better...But so far there arent too many like it on the market... so for [...] bucks..i think its worth it..

Works great, looks really ugly.
This light works just fine. Install all the proper batteries, one of which you must buy and is a major oddball, and the switch controls the light OK. It appears that the switch MUST be below the light, that is, lower than the light, for it to work. That's not likely to be a problem, but at first I thought it didn't work. When the light is lit this is far and away the ugliest light I have ever seen; it looks like something from a Spielberg movie. In a garage or workshop ugly is OK; in a bedroom it really isn't. I'm hoping to find some kind of translucent shade to hide this thing in a bedroom that has no ceiling light. If not, I'll use it in the garage over my workbench. In an "ugly" environment it is great to have a switchable ceiling light that you can put anywhere. I'm glad I bought it. Actually, I bought two. I will put both to good use somewhere. My review is really positive, but you need to know this is a seriously ugly light.
