Used to change Porsche IMS bearing and worked perfectly

I tried using a generic snap ring plier without any success to remove a 2 inch ring holding a Boxster IMS bearing. The Knipex removed it on the first try and also installed the new ring on the first try. Very impressed. Although this is a specialty tool that I may never use again, it was well worth the $20 to hold and release the ring(s) securely.

Exceptional quality

These bad boys are hefty. If you manage to break them, you should probably reconsider your life choices. They ooze quality. There's a certain confidence you feel when using these pliers that you just don't get with cheaper crap. I look at someone else taking out the snap ring on a 2" bush bearing, with their pliers slipping and bending, their face squinting and hand cupped over the hole, and I walk a little taller knowing I don't have that problem anymore and I don't believe I will for some time to come.

Not for Honda Motorcycle master cylinders

While this is a solidly made product, it will not fit into the aperture of a 1981 Honda Goldwing master cylinder due to the bulk of the front shaft even with the piston fully depressed, which I wondered about before purchasing. Secondly, the pins are too large to fit inside the clip holes as well, which I found out by trying them on the replacement clip I need to put in once the other one is out. No information was given about the size of the pins on this product. Be aware of what you use it on but, if it works for you, I'm sure it will last. I'm keeping it anyway for possible future use and buying one of the angled 3" ones.

Just get it. There is no comparison when it comes to this type of tool. Use it for rings 19-60mm. I have several other knipex pliers and have used plenty of other brands throughout the years. The feel, fit, finish & durability is unmatched. These are the precision versions; the ones used by Zeus himself.
