REVIEW: I RETURNED this item for a refund! Why? Because, just over 7 days the lip exfoliant as you can in the attached photo, melted down to hardly any product! It is very sweet and plastic tasting - artificial flavour!! Not nice! Once applied it v quickly disappears and melts, and leaves you with little product as you can see in the pic. It is not a good exfoliant and does NOT do what it claims on the description: “Treats and smoothes lips for a conditioned and revitalized feel, removing any dry or chapped skin” ????this is WRONG and incorrect, false advertising. It doesn’t remove any dead skin, dry skin, or peeling skin, that needs to be gentle yet still effective enough to remove the skin. COMPARED TO......???? Elf’s texture is not thick and strong, compared to the pot exfoliant ‘Aliver Double Effect Lip Care’ from Amazon, which is BY FAR BETTER! Effective, lasts longer. You can feel the grain/real texture rubbing the lips, which also contains Collagen. I use a clean finger to apply. A pink small tub with two parts a BALM which is REALLY hydrating for dry lips, they call it a ‘lip mask’, you leave it on overnight and wipe away then use a SUPER SUPER SOFT SOFT new+clean toothbrush (NOT one that’s been used to clean your teeth!), to gently remove the dead skin in circular motions). Use as often as needed, last for ages. I purchased this Elf one, bec I had wanted it to be easier to apply lipstick style rather than from a pot. ‘Aliver Double Effect Lip Care’ compared to Elf’s Lip exfoliant, is SO much better. And more effective at removing dark, dry skin on lips. My Lips are no longer dark with dead darkened, dry skin. They are back to natural colour of being pinker, + less dark’, (my bad, I should be using balm all the time throughout the day to avoid having to use an exfoliant) I have seriously chapped lips permanently and use Elizabeth Arden (orange gel) 8 hr cream smeared all over my lips before bed and in the morning after teeth cleaning. There’s no competition with the Elizabeth Arden 8 hr cream you can use anywhere. Don’t usually take photos, but felt compelled to show you what it looks like, and that in just over 7 days it’s melted into nothing, leaving only this much product left!! My ‘Aliver Double Effect Lip Care’, purchased before the Elf one, has still got a lot of product left! Conclusion: - not economical, waste of money -melts away after just over a week-shocking. -tastes like PLASTIC or burning rubber! Disgusting artificial taste. -false advertising as shown above. Also! It says ‘brown sugar’ underneath on the base but no where on the description. Is it actual sugar I have ingested?! Strange. - doesn’t work, doesn’t remove dead dark skin to reveal natural more pink shade of lips. -this is the 1st time I’ve tried an Elf SKIN product and not makeup. I like a lot of their makeup, the quality and ‘dupeness’ ! are good. I do not think that they know what they’re doing with skin care though. - price of Elf products is part of the appeal. The fact that the prices for a drug store product are going up and up, especially w their new skincare range - I feel it’s unjustified. - another issue I have with ELF, is that they very quickly discontinue products that actually are great. Like the cream blush quad is near impossible to find! As is the Skin + Coconut mist in the PEACH Bottle. -another issue with ELF! ????????♀️ is that the UK Elf product availability is not as much as in the US. So when they are advertising their latest line/product, you can safely assume it won’t be available here in the UK more often than not. Compare the US and UK websites. They never respond back to you when you ask them why that is the case - rude and bad customer service. Disappointing from ELF! ☹️
