I’m not one to write reviews, but after using this litter for a few months now, I feel like I need to tell others about my experience. And sorry this is long but it’s necessary. We bought a new house in December, but couldn’t move in until New Year’s Day, so we stayed at my parents for a couple of weeks. While staying there, we had our cats in my dads office because it was an unfamiliar house to them and we wanted to keep them contained but comfortable. The cats didn’t love this, but went with it for the two weeks we were there. Big stress #1. Then we moved into the new house. It’s much bigger than our old one, which we thought the cats would love. 2 out of the 3 took the transition just fine. But our one cat, June (a calico of course), did not take it well AT ALL. Big Stress #2 for her. We were using the same litter that she had been using since she was a kitten, but she now refused to use it and began peeing on our new carpeted floors and pooping in the basement. My husband DID NOT care for this, especially because I was pregnant so he was the one cleaning all the messes. Everyday, all day, he was cleaning up pee and poop around our house. It was exhausting and disheartening, and with a new baby on the way, we didn’t have time for this. We took her to the vet to rule out a UTI or any other health issues, but she was fit as a fiddle. We bought more litterboxes. We put litterboxes on every floor, in super inconvenient spots for us but in hopes that she would be pleased and use them. Nope. We bought pheromone sprays. We bought more toys, beds, and cat trees. We put tin foil down on the carpets where she liked to go and used special cleaners made for cat pee to eliminate the smell. We did everything we could think of to try and make it stop, to no avail. Four months in to this nightmare and we were at our wits end. I cried all the time, stressed by the notion that this may never get better and she may never be comfortable in our home again. It was stressful, and gross, and we had a toddler and newborn. It was too much. Then, as a last ditch effort, I found this litter. It was my last hope - my Obi Wan Kenobi, if you will. But the reviews were promising and I would try anything at this point. We tried one litterbox to start out. Within minutes, all 3 cats had surrounded the box and were taking turns using it. Even June. The next day, it was completely full and our other old litterboxes were untouched. So we swapped another box for this litter. Same thing. They loved it. Couldn’t get enough of it. I don’t know what is in it or what actually attracts them, but it was working and I didn’t care how. Fast forward to now, a few months into using the Cat Attract litter. 4 out of our 5 boxes are now this litter, and the 5th box never gets used. I’m about to switch that one and make this new magic litter our brand loyal choice. I truly don’t know what I would have done if we hadn’t found it, but I’m so thankful that this worked. June is much happier now, we are much happier not having to constantly clean pee off our living room floor, and everyone is living in harmony. The only con is that it is pretty dusty right out of the bag, so I suggest taking it outside when transferring it into a separate container just to spare your lungs from the dust. But other than that, I could not recommend this more. If you’re on the fence, just try it. It’s pricey but man is it worth it.
