Fun game, great for Disney lovers
The tutorial book is easy to understand, they have you play chapter by chapter to get an understanding of how to play. My 5 year tries to play with me. My only complaint was we did not get the right health bar for Alladin, we got 2 of the same health dials for malificent and had to write his health on one.

Wait, this is actually a gamer's game?
Background: I am an avid board and video gamer with kids aged 2 to 12. Review: This game came as a complete surprise to me and intellectual property like this is usually used to sell poorly designed games. This is not the case for Sorcerer's Arena. After researching this game, I thought it might be a good gateway game to get my kids into other games that I own that are similar, such as Unmatched or Summoner Wars. To my surprise, this game actually packs just as much depth as both of those games. I tried jumping into the full rules, but my kids seemed overwhelemed, so we decided to use the simplified chapter system in the games rules that teaches parts of the rules at a time. This worked very well as in only a couple of games, my 12 year old can play and win with the full rulebook. I also can player with the more simplified chapter rules with my 6 and 9 year old and still enjoy a fun deep game. The game has you form a team of 3, mixing their decks together to create unique combo opportunities, such as an all spellcaster team (Facilier, Mickey Malificient), or Tanks and Heals (Gaston, Sully, Ariel). With only 8 characters in the base game though, you will definitely be hungry for more characters, so know that you likely will be wanting to buy expansions as well. Overall, this is not just a game to gateway people into modern board games. This is a modern board game with a rule system to allows people to approach it at their own pace. Very well designed and if the expansions are similar quality, I will be buying them all.

A solid miniature battle game akin to Crystal Clans, Summoner Wars, and others, with Disney appeal.
It's a well designed game with plenty of depth, but remains easy to learn. I'm using this game along with Necromolds (another great, accessible game in the genre) to introduce tabletop battle games to my family. This is also a great next game for fans of Villainous that may be looking for more Disney fun. The best part is, this game is more than just a bridge to better games. It's one we'll return to often, and I hope to see many expansions to come. My only complaint is the fiddly health tracker ringers for the pieces, which could have been done far better.

Beautiful game if you’re a Disney Fan. Not for beginners gamers but definitely such a good game. Another one for the collection

Terribly Overpriced Components, Fun Gameplay
Edit: Demoted another star as once we got to trying all the characters out realized that Maleficent was not included, instead we received 2 Dr. Facilier. Also including pics to show the damaged / poor state of the pieces. TLDR: Disney should be ashamed of itself for having a "discount" game maker tarnish the quality of the brand. If you can look past paying an inflated price for crappy components, you'll find the actual gameplay is indeed quite fun. Cons: As much as I enjoyed the gameplay it does not outweigh the game maker's oversight of component quality. The acrylic character pieces came with scratches, the colors are super faded, the standies don't actually turn as you might expect, so every time you need to adjust a character's health you have to de-tach and re-attach, and the character cards themselves are incredibly flimsy. Compared to Cosmic Encounters which has similar components, the quality here is incredibly lacking. The board itself has no theme whatsoever to the Disney universe. It looks like someone just picked the most generic background they could find. Similarly, the character designs themselves look like discount Disney pieces. I don't know about you, but I really do not enjoy being ripped off, hence the 2 stars. Pros: The actual gameplay is indeed fun. The chaptered learning system is manageable and introduces rules at a nice pace. The variety of gameplay and strategy through deck-building and status effects is a tight system.
