Great product except for the wheels

Briggs & Riley does a great job supporting traveler’s buying decisions when it comes to their products. Very detailed and informative plus the build quality is awesome. I thought I found the perfect carry-on when I unboxed the 22-inch Spinner Baseline Essential case. For years I used a Tumi Continental spinner, but recently it started showing its age with some cosmetic damage and a broken zipper. It wasn’t until I packed up the B&R for a three day trip that I decided this case wasn’t for me. Rolling this case on all four spinners through the airport was like trying to hold up a drunken sailor walking across a boat deck in rough seas. It’s all over the place. You have to work it to keep from getting off course and bumping into someone. Again I’m comparing this to my Tumi but I’ll add my wife’s Travelpro which does an excellent job wheeling through an airport. If you never used a Tumi or Travelpro or you are migrating from a two wheeled roller board you probably won’t know the difference as many reviewers here show they’re very happy with this case. Another peeve, although minor, is the suite holder, it’s smaller than my Tumi so my hanging shirts were more susceptible to wrinkling and I couldn’t hang as much clothing. Again B&R is impressive, great design, the ratchet mechanism for compressing the case is awesome. Just need the wheels to track straight so as not to course-correct every moment your escorting the case through the airport or hotel lobby. I wound up buying a new Tumi Alpha Continental and grudgingly paid the additional $300 more compared the B&R case. My first choice would have been the Travelpro Elite series 22inch; but unfortunately, it only comes in a two wheel model.

Perfect travel bag

Decided to buy after reviewing videos of the best travel bags online and visiting the site of this highly rated bag. I have used it on several domestic and international trips and it has lived up to the hype. The telescoping handle makes it easy to find a comfortable height for transport and the wheels help the bag to glide effortlessly, even with it’s larger size. The material is sturdy and has shown little wear thus far. However the best feature is the patented expansion system that allows you to squeeze in those few extra items when necessary. It has become one of my go to pieces of luggage for travel. Glad to get a great price on Amazon.

Almost Perfect

It would've been the perfect bag for short business trips if it only had a padded laptop compartment—preferably a 16-inch one for the MacBook. Other than that, it is great.

Expensive but worth it for frequent flyer

I travel for work 30 to 40 % of the year for work and personal travel. This bag has lots of small features that make a big impact overall. I only wish I had purchased it sooner. Side note - watch out when you buy it. I ended up purchasing through the ISELL LLC reseller. The shipping information was incorrect and when I complained I was told I should have bought it from someone else. Beware this reseller on Amazon.

rock solid

This thing works great. That said, I probably could have gone with a less expensive bag and had similar results. The Travelpro platinum series for example, if the lifetime guarantee is your thing. But they were sold out. I like that I can either ship it to be repaired, or, just buy $15 repair kits for just about anything (wheels, handles, etc). With travelpro you have to call them. Briggs has them on their website. Only have to ship for zipper issues. First suitcase I actually used every feature: umbrella pocket, water bottle holder, every single pocket. I bought my 22 inch used. great prices on used stuff with transferrable guarantees, just mostly the older two wheel designs instead of spinners. Got to buy the spinners at market price. This is an 'under seat' bag and it works. Most of the time. I could fit under seat in center and window, but not aisle. So just because it says you can and airline says you can, doesn't mean you can fit it under seat.

Excellent Quality

I bought this for a two week international trip. Packed about 9 days of clothes. It held up perfectly in and out of multiple airports in multiple countries. Very pleased.

It glides through the airport with a backpack on top

I had a previous 2 wheeler and got tennis elbow due to pulling the weight inclined of the suitcase plus my laptop briefcase. I travel a lot, so I need a high quality carry on with a garment for suits for up to 5 days. This is perfect! it takes my heavy laptop bag and easily glides through almost any surface, except rugs where you need to push a little harder. My first trip took my tuxedo and lots of clothes for warm weather. Everything arrived perfectly, no wrinkles. Easy to push instead of pulling a two wheeler hurting myself. I love the new system that allows me to pack and then push down to compact the size. true, it is expensive compared to other options, but if you are a professional traveler.. this is the way to go! Only con is that not all airlines in europe accept this size (22 inch) as carry on, in that case should get the 21 inch. For US airlines should be OK

Almost Perfect

My new Briggs & Riley Suitcase arrived today. It looks great and the construction of the suitcase is really good. As there is no integrated lock Briggs & Riley supply a Briggs & Riley branded cable lock. The only problem is that the lock doesn't work and it is £19.99 to replace it. Other than the suitcase is perfect.

A high ticket item but worth the investment

I like the look of the suitcase, the organization of the inside pockets, the extension of the suitcase from inside (unique to B&R), the wheels work well (not as nice as my Riwona), the color is classy and the handle is adjustable and sturdy. I have used this B&R model for the past 10 years in the elements for worldwide business trips weekly and it is still in great shape despite the airline abuse. It’s an investment and well worth it if you travel frequently on long hauls.

Heavy but good.

These are great suitcases. I’ve had them for years and would strongly recommend them. There is only one problem. They are extremely heavy. You would think that with today’s technology they could produce a lighter suitcase.

Very well made product that looks great and works well. Works very well as an accessory to the larger Briggs and Riley suitcases. Highly recommended.
